25.01.2022 Cyrus Tang is having an exclusive online exhibition via ARC ONE Gallery's curated viewing rooms, entitled Cyrus Tang: New & Key Works. The exhibition features a selection of recent works from Tang's poetic series Remember me when the sun goes down, alongside key works from her oeuvre. Drawing on her personal experiences of 2020, in Remember me when the sun goes down Chinese-Australian artist Cyrus Tang seeks to find images that address our collective experi...ence, its anxieties and its hopes. As a master of other worlds, she has created haunting composite photographic images, each one focussing upon a single recurrent motif and layered until it vibrates with a collective sensation. Contact ARC ONE at [email protected] to gain access to this online collection or to request an in situ montage of a small work in your home. --- Congratulations to Tang who is also one of the two winners of the Incinerator Art Award 2020. You can view her work and other finalist works here: https://incineratorgallery.com.au/incinerator-art-award-ex/ from now till 1 Nov. 20.01.2022 #TENCUBEDTURNS10 2020 is a very special year for Ten Cubed - it marks its 10th Anniversary- and the conclusion of our project. To celebrate these ten years, we wanted to record various stages of this wonderful journey - from conception, building the gallery, acquiring the collection to exhibiting the works of the many artists we are proud to have supported. ... With this in mind, the Book 2010 - 2020: TEN CUBED CONCEPT, COLLECTION, GALLERY was commissioned. It is a documentation of what Ten Cubed has accomplished in the past decade. We would like to thank Robert and Frances Lindsay who kindly wrote the introduction, Robyn Whitehouse who undertook 2 years of interviews with our artists and gallerists. And the many others who contributed to this publication. The book was beautifully designed by Hayman Design, edited by Romy Moshinsky and Georgie Raik-Allen and published by Real Film and Publishing. We are delighted with their achievement. We will be posting extracts from the book here over the coming weeks. As to launch and distribution - Stay Tuned! 20.01.2022 || GOODBYE AND THANK YOU|| As 2020 draws to a close, it is with mixed feelings I realise our Ten Cubed project has come to an end. It has been exciting and enjoyable culminating in the publishing of the book 2010-2020 Ten Cubed: Gallery, Concept, Collection. Today I write a final goodbye to all of you as I announce the completion of our Ten Cubed project and the permanent closure of our gallery. Thank you to all of our staff who have been supportive throughout this Ten Cube...d journey. We could not have done it without you. To all of our visitors and friends, who visited our gallery and attended our events It's hard to believe when we opened ten years ago we had no mailing list, no followers and little to no experience in running a gallery. We were on a steep learning curve. And we want to thank you all for coming on this journey with us. To all of our artists. whose works have contributed to the making of a collection that we love and which has been so highly praised. To our galleries for providing us with such thought-provoking and dynamic art to admire and buy. Thank you. To all our schools and universities who brought students into our gallery for education sessions. Thanks to Melissa from MUMA for bringing greater and greater numbers of student groups every year. It was a pleasure and a delight to educate the next generation of art lovers. The production of our book completes our ten year plan. Thank you to Romy and Georgie at Real Film & Publishing for editing and publishing and to Robyn who tirelessly interviewed everyone and so provided us with the raw copy for the book. Many more people deserve recognition and thanks for their role and contribution over the ten years and we have sought to do so in contents of the book. The book 2010-2020 Ten Cubed: Gallery, Concept, Collection. is distributed by Art Ink - https://artink.com.au/tencubed Finally, Ada, my sister in law, thank you for being a true friend and a visionary on this journey. It has been so rewarding by every measure, we have outdone our highest expectations. 19.01.2022 http:// The Modern World Encyclopaedia, published in 1936 following the Great Depression and a few years before the outbreak of World War II, fascinates Tang. "Everyone is thinking, Oh, everything is fine, hooray, we step in a new world. And then World War II starts and everything is falling apart." Burning books, of course, darkly echoes the atrocities of the Nazis, layering complex history into a deceptively simple visual. Tang notes that the times we are living through now sometimes feel like a non-stop crisis, pointing to the pandemic, the explosion in Beirut, and the ongoing troubles in the city of her birth.//

19.01.2022 Congratulations to @cyrustang, one of the 4 winners of 44 finalists of the National Small Sculpture Award by McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery! McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery established the inaugural award this year as wary of supporting artists in the current moment and had received 320 submissions. Lisa Byrne (Director at McClelland Sculpture Park & Gallery) says the award sought to encourage artists to consider sculptural concepts suitable for a domestic scale, as ...opposed to that of a major public environment. All 44 finalist works (all within 50cm) are available for sale, with all proceeds going to the artists. Collectors interested in owning one of the works are encouraged to contact that artists representing gallery, or if the artist in unrepresented, contact the artist direct. 09.01.2022 Alasdair McLuckie's (artist in our Top Ten Collection) new series 'OK' is being exhibited online and by appointment only at Murray White Room. A concept derived from Oskar Kokoschka's signed initials 'OK', McLuckie interprets is as a question that underlines the distance between creating something in relative isolation as a maker, and the works success in finding a receptive viewer in the outside world. He also sees it as a moment of doubt in making, in direct contrast to t...he ego involved to necessitate one's initials on display in every picture mode. McLuckie is interested in these two elements and the dynamic coexisting so obviously through the simple presences of the initials as signature. The OK Series as a whole explores the legacies of modernism, postmodernism's creative inheritance and authenticity, as well as the hierarchies of medium and making - particularly to the pass 100 years of modernist painting. In this exhibition, McKenna speaks of the artist and artisan. @noel.mckenna 's works examine suburban culture in its many guises. 05.01.2022 Peter Atkins's new series of small abstract paintings plays on cultural memories of small screen heroes and villains from the 1980s. TV Week 1980-1985 attempts to locate pure monochromatic colour within the specific era of the early to mid-1980s. 02.01.2022 'Planet A' is the fourth movement of "The Symphony of Collection". It is an extension from our previous exhibition 'Departure'. Traversing from an individual perspective towards post-modern problems into a wider realm, the exhibition investigates collectively the relationship between human activities and our natural habitats. It creates a nostalgic depiction of a 'Planet A' with visual images of urban and rural landscapes. Featuring works by artists David Wadelton, Jonathan Delafield Cook, Lisa Roet, Michael Cook, Noel McKenna, Nicholas Folland, Rosemary Laing and SarahSmuts-Kennedy, this imaginative exhibition explores the future of our habitat in the light of recent crises, and questions if regaining 'normality' could be a way forward in this tumultuous world. The Symphony of Collection (4) : Planet A 21 July - 15 August 2020
