20.01.2022 Effective immediately - Revised Visiting Restrictions for Millrace Hostel & Haddington Nursing Home 4 August 2020 With the recent escalation of COVID-19, we have imposed the following restrictions on visitation to our facilities;... - No persons who live out of the Tenterfield Shire - No persons who have travelled to Sydney or Victoria in the past 14 days - No persons who reside in Sydney or Victoria - No persons who live in the Brisbane/Ipswich/Logan areas - No person who has been near an individual who has had a positive COVID19 swab result, or are themselves waiting on results from a swab test Visiting guidelines; - Visiting is restricted to 1 hour - Visiting is by appointment only - Only 2 persons to visit a resident at any one time - No children under the age of 16 years - All appointments to be made 24hrs in advance. Visiting hours 09.30 - 12.15 Monday to Friday 13.30 - 15.30 Monday to Friday 10.00 - 12.00 Saturday & Sunday 14.00 - 16.00 Saturday & Sunday NOTE - if there is a COVID-19 positive case in the Tenterfield Shire, we will place both facilities into lockdown. 17.01.2022 Flu Vaccinations 1st MAY 2020 Due to recent Australian Government Legislation, it is now mandatory for all persons entering our facilities, after the 1st May, to have a current flu immunisation. Visitors are asked to show proof of your vaccination status. This can be a letter from whoever does your vaccination-i.e., your GP or pharmacy, or it may be an app on your mobile phone. ... If you prefer, you may email this evidence to Tenterfield Care Centre. Please provide this to the facility as soon as this is available.

15.01.2022 In response to the growing concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Tenterfield Care Centre are putting measures in place to protect our residents. As of the 18 March 2020 there are no identified cases of COVID-19 in either of our facilities. Effective immediately... 1. All non-essential visitors such as business service individuals, bank representatives, solicitors and the like who have arranged appointments to visit with our residents, are advised to contact either Haddington Nursing Home or Millrace Hostel before arriving at our facilities. 2. ALL visitors are to present to the administration offices at both Haddington Nursing Home and Millrace Hostel before visiting residents. All visitors will need to wash their hands before entering and leaving a residents room and will be encouraged to practise social distancing where possible, including to stay away when unwell. 3. Visitors are restricted to two (2) visitors at a time and only in residents rooms, not in the communal areas. 4. NO children under the age of 16 may visit our facilities. 5. Large group visits, gatherings, and external excursions will be postponed until further notice. 6. From 1 May 2020, you must have your influenza vaccination in order to visit with a resident at Tenterfield Care Centre. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, however our residents wellbeing are our top priority during this turbulent time. 11.01.2022 New Visiting Restrictions 27 April 2020 Please note the following visiting limitations, effective immediately;... 1. Visiting is to be arranged with staff prior to arrival 2. Visiting will be for a limited time in a restricted area 3. If your family member is unwell, these visiting restrictions will be reviewed by the Director of Nursing on a case by case basis 4. Please limit visiting to two people for 1-2 hours 5. We are not encouraging visitors who live out of town to visit, due to the potential of increased risk of spread of COVID-19 6. Please do not arrange a visit if you are unwell with flu like symptoms Fever, acute respiratory symptoms, breathing problems, cough, sore throat, or fatigue 7. Please do not arrange a visit if you have you have been in contact with a person confirmed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days OR been in contact with someone who has been overseas within the last 14 days. 8. 06.01.2022 The thoughts and prayers of Tenterfield Care Centre are with Neville Smith & his family at this difficult time. Neville was badly injured fighting fires on Friday in Tenterfield. Neville has been a long time volunteer at Haddington Nursing Home. A story was told yesterday amongst our residents at Haddington that on one occasion somebody asked Neville why do you volunteer everyday at the nursing home?... Neville replied, because I care. Best wishes Neville for a speedy recovery.
