18.01.2022 Your task is to write a rule to describe each pattern. Let's start with 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25... so what's the rule? Don't be bad Okay, how about this one 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60... so what's the rule? Don't be naughty Well, maybe this one 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22... this rule? Don't call out ... Is this your child writing these 'rules'? He or she certainly gave Mrs Eke something to laugh about. The owner shall remain anonymous
18.01.2022 Progress on our Nature Play Space is ahead of schedule and Kindergarten teachers have started programming for student-driven outdoor, educational play. 16.01.2022 Featuring PE and technology teacher, Mr Spencer who began teaching at TPS in 2015 after working at Centaur Primary School. Mr Spencer always planned to be a teacher. Having enjoyed the student lifestyle, so much, he wanted to continue his school life into adulthoodalthough he says, he has much more homework now! He doesn’t mind when he's working from the LOFT. That grand view of the Pacific Ocean and Terranora Broadwater is hard to ignore. When asked if there is a message he... could send back to himself as a first year teacher, Mr Spencer comments, Be prepared to have a new nickname each week. Within the last month, I've been Mr Baldy, Mr Banana-head but lately it has just been Noodles... I don't even get a title. As a specialist teacher, Mr Spencer has the joy of interacting with students across the whole school. He loves seeing good sportsmanship amongst our students, particularly their sense of inclusivity of all classmates during PE classes. He also loves seeing how quickly new students settle in to school and become part of the TPS community. Outside of school, Mr Spencer likes to hang out with his family and dogs’, play a round of golf, surf our stunning coastline, or just be out in nature.

04.01.2022 Featuring Miss Keeley who began her cadetship in 2019, and is currently in her 2nd year of a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree at Southern Cross University. Along with having great teachers of her own and her dad being a teaching mentor, Miss Keeley has always wanted to be in a position where she could give back to the community. She believes teaching our future leaders, doctors, scientists, builders, etc. is a great way for her to achieve this. Miss Kee...ley tells us one of the benefits of the TPS cadet program is offering students more areas of support both in and outside the classroom. She says, The program also assists teachers because cadets can work closely with a group of students while the teacher works with another. This allows all students in the classroom time for small group or one-on-one interactions. Their questions can be answered and worked through. Miss Keeley’s most memorable moment so far has been getting up close and personal with the Easter Bunny who came to TPS for a special visit. The extra little bit of joy for students, whilst they were home-schooling, definitely brightened her week Outside of school, Miss Keeley is a busy girl. She adds restaurant waiter to her working repertoire, and she gets out horse riding as often as she can; a hobby shared with other TPS students. Miss Keeley is also an avid reader and when she isn’t studying, she likes to read one of the hundreds of books in her home library collection. Miss Keeley is looking forward to being able to travel again, dusting off the camping gear and going on a long road trip.

03.01.2022 Important safety update: Snakes are about with sightings this morning on Australia Drive and Federation Drive. Parents and carers, please inform your children particularly those walking to and from school to be extra careful and do not approach the snake. Some sound advice from the RSPCA QLD: Whether it be the home, the great outdoors or even your car, remember that snakes will never harm you unless provoked. Do not touch them without the assistance of a licensed snake h...andler, and never attempt to kill them, it is illegal and also puts you at greater risk of being bitten. The RSPCA website covers what to do if you encounter a snake in your backyard, in your house, if your pet is bitten and more https://www.rspcaqld.org.au//wildlife-conse/snake-backyard
02.01.2022 "Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light." Vera Nazarian, writer of fantasy and science fiction "It is not enough to simply teach children to read; we have to give them something worth reading. Something that will stretch their imaginationssomething that will help them make sense of their own lives and encourage them to reach out toward people whose lives are quite different from their own". Katherine Patterson, children’s author
