23.01.2022 Beachmere residents will have better mobile phone coverage thanks to funding from the Federal Government's Mobile Blackspot program. Telstra recently completed the installation of a small cell mobile base station to address an issue where some residents, particularly in the Beachmere Sands community, were feeling isolated because they could not contact friends and family. I have been fighting to resolve this situation and with help from Minister for Regional Communications Mark Coulton, I'm delighted that Telstra has now completed the new infrastructure.

19.01.2022 Scouts groups in Longman have been inundated with new membership inquiries throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. These groups continue to play such an important role in helping young people on the path to success.
17.01.2022 People living near Stanmore and Bellthorpe Range Road will have improved access to mobile services in the event of a natural disaster. The two mobile towers in these areas will be upgraded to ensure they keep operating for at least 12 hours if the power goes out, servicing 175 homes in the area. The upgrade is part of the Morrison Government's $18 million Mobile Network Hardening Program.
17.01.2022 The Morrison Government will strip organisations of their charitable status if they fail to fulfil their obligation to join the National Redress Scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse. This means they will no longer receive tax concessions while they force survivors to wait longer for the redress they so justly deserve.

15.01.2022 Have you ever been caught by a phone scammer? So far in 2020, Australians have lost nearly $36m to scam calls. The Morrison Government this month unveiled the Reducing Scam Calls Code to help put a stop to these scams. The initiative from Paul Fletcher sets out the processes for telcos to identify, trace and block scam calls.... Details here: https://www.paulfletcher.com.au//detecting-tracing-and-blo
15.01.2022 There were some fantastic performers at the Dust in the Rust show on Wednesday night. Hosted by country music radio legend Daryl Kirkup at Caboolture Sports Club, the show featured Oh Harlow, David Schaak, Lee Griffin, @Will Day and Col Finley. Lots of fun!

13.01.2022 This new JobTrainer agreement will provide job seekers in Longman with better access to free or low-fee skills training, in industries of demand. It will really help job seekers and young people, especially school leavers, as the state recovers from COVID-19.

10.01.2022 Great to catch up with the LNP state candidate for Morayfield Theresa Craig on the way to the airport today before jumping on a plane to Canberra. Theresa is proof of what hard work can achieve, working 3 jobs to put herself through university. If Theresa is elected later this month we will be working closely together on reducing crime, drug use and the unemployment rate in our community.

09.01.2022 Great news for anyone who has been stuck in traffic heading to or from the Sunshine Coast. Construction work to widen the Bruce Highway to six lanes between Caboolture and Beerburrum will begin before Christmas. This $662.5 million project is jointly funded by us ($530m) and the State ($132.5m). It will be delivered as two contracts: One between Bribie Island Rd and Pumicestone Rd; and the second between Pumicestone Rd and Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163). Both stages should be completed in early 2023.

08.01.2022 In Parliament this week I attended the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of Combatting Child Exploitation in Australia with AFP Assistant Commissioner Lesa Gale. It’s a confronting issue but we must do everything we can to lead the conversations in our communities to help stop this abhorrent crime.
08.01.2022 The team at Dragons Abreast Bribie Island were kind enough to invite me out for a paddle this afternoon and let me tell you, it was a good workout! Dragons Abreast is a group for breast cancer survivors (both men and women). Researchers found that the physical action of rowing actually helps reduce the chance of breast cancer survivors getting lymphoedema, and so these Dragons Abreast groups popped up all over the country. It is a fantastic initiative that not only provides m...edical benefits, but also offers members exercise and social support. While the team does not "race" the boat, they are very competitive and participate in regattas. In fact, there is a big international regatta coming up in New Zealand in 2022 that the team will start training for next year, COVID-19 permitting.
08.01.2022 Two great charities. Happy to be a part of the Giving Tree light-up in Parliament House this morning.
08.01.2022 Fantastic boost for the arts sector! The Morrison Government is delivering $60 million in grants under the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund. 07.01.2022 King St, Caboolture right now. Stay safe if you're on the roads!
07.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came out to meet me at my recent mobile office events. We had a lot of inquiries on matters including health, superannuation and a whole range of government services.
05.01.2022 Thankyou to all the volunteers in Longman your tireless work and dedication in making our communities better. Tomorrow is International Volunteer Day and a great opportunity to thank local volunteers for their great work this year, particularly with the challenges posed by Covid-19.
04.01.2022 We are helping reduce waste while creating new jobs. This week, we passed Australia’s first national Recycling Act. This is a billion-dollar transformation of our waste and recycling industry, creating 10,000 new Australian jobs and taking responsibility for our waste.
03.01.2022 Great job Jay and Zac!
03.01.2022 Thanks to Tracey and the people at Caboolture Toastmasters for a fun night of impromptu speeches. I highly recommend this would be great for anyone who has to do a bit of public speaking or just wants to build some confidence - including school students.
01.01.2022 Are there any roads near you that should be fixed/upgraded? The Australian Government is helping to make roads in Longman safer. Moreton Bay Council received $1.1 million last month under the Federal Government's Roads to Recovery program. Total R2R allocation for Moreton Bay Council for the 2019-24 period is about $25 million.
01.01.2022 #WATCH as the Treasurer hands down the 2020 Federal Budget, #LIVE at 7:30pm AEDT on 6 October.
01.01.2022 I recently attended the opening of the South Sea Island Community Centre which was jointly funded by the community and a Federal Government grant. The centre is close to my heart and will help bring people together, remember the past but look positively towards the future. It also has opportunities to give people an insight into our shared history. The centre has been established in the new North Harbour estate, near a little known but historically significant site in Longman. It is fantastic to have a developer in our region that is dedicated to preserving our local history and creating space for the community to come together.
