16.01.2022 Another project done and dusted. This was an old cane chair, it was falling apart and needed a new lease on life. Now it's a beautiful comfy outdoor reading chair for Kel. And who knew it would go so well with the outdoor side table/ foot stool

10.01.2022 So i just wanted to let you all know that Texture Designs is still in operation. I am still upcycling furniture, reupholstering, screen printing and sign writing. In fact I have been tinkering in my shed with some pallets. So many projects for these little beauties

06.01.2022 So you may remember I was making a latch hook rug for the new house. Well after many many pain staking hours it is finally finished. I had to cut every single piece of wool myself and let me tell you, I will not be doing another . Each little square you see has 100 pieces of wool. You can see the size of the squares as shown with the colours

04.01.2022 So i haven't done much on here of recent. My time and efforts have been totally focused on the building of our new house. We have now been in our new home for 7 weeks and things are really feeling homely. Its an awesome feeling walking through that door into a space that has been completely created by and for you. I have been quite torn with how I feel about what i have been trying to do with my little business that i almost quit. But i am anything but a quitter. I thought t...hat what i was making even though it had lots if likes and attention wasn't really what people wanted as itbjust wasn't selling and I became downhearted with it all. What i have come to realise is that i was making stuff for me and what I liked and not focusing on what others might actually find as a practical solution for their home. Over the last few weeks while friends and family have wandered through our beautiful new home they have been praising all my bits and pieces as I have used so many myself. I realised that i was actually pretty good at this. And so rather than try something new or come up with yet another idea i should be focusing on what it is that YOU actually want. I will no longer simply make stuff for the hell of it but make stuff that i have been asked to make. So if you know of anyone who would like some custom furniture or home decor pieces than Texture Designs is for them and for you. I am finally in a great creative space See more

03.01.2022 The finished chair. I love it. I used the old green buttons just to leave a bit of that old retro feel and I sanded the arms and legs right back to show the grain and just waxed over them.
