18.01.2022 Clubs Tasmania has a monthly meeting with the Minister for Racing, Sport and Recreation, the honourable Jane Howlett. At our meeting on Tuesday September 1 we discussed: the impact that current COVID 500 crowd restrictions will have on winter sports finals and upcoming carnivals for Rowing, Racing and Speedway... we lobbied to extend the Improving the Playing Field funding in forward budget estimates to give clubs, peak bodies and local government, time to discuss and strategically plan stay tuned for more good news around the Ticket to Play program and suggested a possible model to increase employment in the community club sector and increase access for children to sport in the school setting Does your club have a barrier to participation or pain point issue that you would like us to consider and possibly raise with the Minister? why not reach out on 1300 125 827 or email [email protected]

The course can be delivered face to face, or through a virtual classroom or online (approximately 4 hours plus assessment) To participate, clubs and venues simply need to send me an email [email protected] indicating your interest, and list their employees name and email address...es we will then forward to Work and Training and they will contact you. As Clubs Tasmania members, your club and venue have been given priority access and given COVID situations will continue to occur having staff in venues or volunteers that have this training and accreditation is a good thing for the safety of clubs, venues, employees, volunteers, members and patrons. The new Framework includes evolved Sport Governance Principles that many Tasmanian State Sporting Organisations contributed to drafting through national workshops held in 2019.... These events will bring together National and State Sporting Organisation Directors, sport administrators and volunteers from across the country. Each of the events will have a special panel of guests, specific to the host state.
