24.01.2022 So here is the drawing that you could be taking home! As you can see, it is an original drawing by DreamWorks Character Designer, Nico Marlet. Nico uses orange pencil to sketch out all of his drawings. Pretty cool huh! The drawing is 43cm x 28cm. So nice and big! It'll look great hanging in your house for all to see! 14.01.2022 Very excited to announce that in 2 weeks we start editing our short film ‘Hopscotch’ at City Post in South Melbourne. We are very lucky to have Wayne Hyett at the controls as our editor. Wayne has edited many great productions, from the Australian classic film ‘The Castle’, right through to the recent ABC Series ‘The Doctor Blake Mysteries’ and many documentaries.



12.01.2022 A big congratulations to friend of Thanks Dad Productions, Nico Marlet! Two films he designed the characters for are nominated for Oscars and Annie Awards (Animation Awards)! Nico himself is nominated for an Annie for Best Character Design in ‘Abominable’. ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ is nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. We wish him the best of luck for the Awards!

12.01.2022 Very excited to announce that production on ‘Hopscotch’ is now complete!!! It’s in the can! Very proud of absolutely EVERYONE that worked on this film or had some input in some way. All we can say is THANK YOU and that we are extremely happy with the way the film has turned out!! A big shout out to Dave Lawson @thedbag and Michala Banas @michalabanas for bringing life to our characters, to Jo @onevisionjo who captured this film so beautifully, and to all the guys at City Pos...t and The Backlot Studios @the_backlot_studios for all their hard work in piecing together the film in post-production! And also to Paul Beard, our magician musician, who once again has written a score that perfectly emotes and helps take you on the journey throughout this film. So let us take you behind the scenes to see some of the fun we had with our brilliant cast and crew, and see how easy it is to direct a film while holding a chihuahua called Chloe. Enjoy!

07.01.2022 Fun fact! Did you know that Bradley Hall, the creator of Thanks Dad, made his TV acting debut a few weeks ago on ABC’s ‘Utopia’? Well in Episode One of the new series, you’ll see him acting alongside some award winning actors in Celia Pacquola and Dilruk Jayasinha. As well as the hilarious Kitty Flanagan and TV Celebrity Vet, Dr Chris Brown. You can check out the show on ABC iView and it also airs every Wednesday night on ABC1 at 9pm. The show also stars Dave Lawson who is in our next film ‘Hopscotch’ And is shot by Joanne Donahoe-Beckwith who also filmed ‘Hopscotch’.
