25.01.2022 We are excited to be re-opening for dine-in service TOMORROW! We will resume our regular cafe hours of 9:30-2:30 Monday to Friday, however will remain closed on Saturdays at this stage. We are able to have 10 customers dining inside and 20 outside, for a maximum of 2 hours. All customers will be required to wear masks unless consuming food and drink.... 11.01.2022 In Norlane, unemployment is something that far too many people face. One of the barriers to employment is a lack of recent experience and skills in a relevant workplace. At The Aviary we aim to address this through providing work experience opportunities to locals hoping to re-enter the workforce. So far we have provided over 30 volunteer opportunities and work experience placements through partnerships with key local employment agencies, and now have 2 trainees working tow...ards qualifications in hospitality. We couldnt do this without the support of our wonderful customers. Every coffee and dinner ordered, enables us to continue providing this service. We continue to be open for take away coffees and a light menu 9:30-1 Monday - Friday. 07.01.2022 At The Aviary, we strive to build a strong community culture and pride, through creating a place where our customers feel welcomed and a sense of belonging. Our cafe is situated on Robin Ave and Eagle parade, in a part of Norlane where most of the streets are also named after birds. We chose the name The Aviary to symbolise the home of the birds, and we seek to create that feeling of home for our customers. We love seeing strangers become friends and friends become famil...y, and have already seen this happen a lot in the short time we have been open. We have many specific reasons for operating where we do, and the way that we do and wed like to share these with you over the coming weeks. At The Aviary we value healthy food, however in recent times, healthy food has become unattainable for many, whether this is through high costs, low access or a lack of skills or knowledge.... One of our aims is to make healthy food affordable and accessible to all. Which is why we do our best to keep our costs low and have a team of trainees and volunteers helping out our staff. All of our food is made by us using the freshest ingredients, locally sourced where possible.
