20.01.2022 Victoria Bunbury recently visited her namesake Bunbury during March and we were blessed to have had her stay at The Boathouse Bed & Breakfast. It was so nice to arrive and receive such a warm homely welcome from Deborah. shared Victoria. Australia is adored by her whole family and the trip has helped Victoria heal after the loss of her Father and Aunt very close to each other. As inspiration she decided to follow the footsteps of her great-great-great Grandfather Lieutenant... Bunbury across Australia. Phyllis Barnes and Jim Cameron compiled and published a local book Lieutenant Bunbury’s Australian Sojourn, which is a collection of his letters and diary entries to family back home. I’ve used this as my route to get around Australia, although I haven’t done it the authentic Bunbury way, which would be by ship and horseback. Victoria said. The completion of her journey ended in Bunbury, who our beautiful City is named after. Victoria said another highlight has been how wonderful to be somewhere where everyone knows how to spell your last name! It was a delight to meet Victoria. We wish her the best on her journey home, as she now has to post over 40 postcards, plus merchandise gifts to family and friends at home with our lovely Bunbury name on them :)

It was a wonderful sunny day, the Willie Wagtails gave a lovely welcome to our new guests and our morning tea was quite scrumptious if we do say so ourselves Meeting and sharing ideas with the ladies was a helpful insight and great support for one another. We hope everyone stays well, safe and if you are self-isolating enjoy the moments you are spending with your loved ones. ...
