25.01.2022 Thanks to Sir Mark Elrick and the whole Team at our local Football Club SUFC (whom OFP is also a major and founding sponsor) for your generous hearts and d...onation of hundreds of soccer Jerseys, socks, shorts, playing kits today to iCare4U. They will go to the youth and children of Gereka village and Port Moresby for clothing and some team sport events where our home grown charity is based and making a real difference in the lives of young women and children affected by HIV and Domestic Violence. Our iCare4u charity home / facility is set to become PNG's first ever medium to long stay Respite and Rehabilitation centre for women and children affected by HIV and DV. Launched in 2015 by friends George & Crystal Nita and Adam & Emma Atherton we wanted to help the vulnerable and those suffering physically, financially and emotionally and those who have abused or abandoned. We visit and give new rape victims and those with new HIV diagnoses our icare packages in POM General Hospital and help them with positive steps and life options. In 2021 iCare4u hopes to house more women and children on its current site/ facility as they build more dwellings and care homes. Quite a few children have also been safely adopted through our care after being abandoned. You can find out more here: www.icare4u.org.au Or check out our FaceBook page! Ps. The SUFC soccer season is just revving up again! from littles to old has beens the whole club and management and families are professional, supportive and friendly. Give it a go!

23.01.2022 For a long time we have known the benefits of supervised exercise during cancer treatment, but new research has found that cancer "prehabilitation" can help someone change their lifestyle prior to treatment. This can sometimes even allow them to access life-saving treatment otherwise deemed unsuitable. This can only be a good thing right?! 10.01.2022 One of our awesome treatment tools is the snazzy Low Level Laser Machine we have in clinic. We love using the LASER for many reasons but especially to break up scar tissue and cording, stimulate the lymph nodes to help with lymphoedema. Super gentle, you won't feel a thing but super effective! You will see and feel a difference real time - whether it is releasing the cording down your arm post breast cancer or releasing the tension in your surgical scar to give you more range... of motion and comfort. Let us know if you've had the LASER used on you and how effective it was Click through to see some of the research. https://www.orionfamilyphysio.com/laser-therapy

08.01.2022 Did you know we can take you to the pool or give you a hydrotherapy program? Exercising in the water is a great way to get you started into exercising, taking the pressure off your body and the pressure of the water on your body can even help with lymphoedema!

06.01.2022 Your daily check-in tool! #resilience Each letter (S, M, I, L, E) represents one daily habit important for mental and/or physical health. Take a minute each day & ask yourself the following questions:... S - Sleep enough. Did I rest today? Was my sleep restorative? M - Move my body. Did I exercise today? I - Inhale. Exhale. Did I meditate today? L - Love & connect. Did I meaningfully connect with someone today? E - Eat to nourish. Did I choose healthy foods today? Remember to be gentle with yourself. You are doing the best you can. Just take a small step in the right direction today if you're off track https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=155431389369860&id=102643851315281
