13.01.2022 My Dad by Deacon Jude It was last Christmas at my visit home to Myanmar when Dad and I were together, but I Skype him every Sunday. Playing soccer in the backyard, riding my bicycle and going to the cinema were my fond childhood memories with him. Growing up I enjoyed reading newspapers with him and looking at old photo albums while listening to his narration, and we still do them each time I go home. Dad took his role as bread-winner seriously and I look at to him for saf...ety and security. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there. Why not add your reflection about your dad to this post?

07.01.2022 Prep for Meatless Mondays To give you time to prepare your meals for the coming week, today we are focusing on Meatless Monday. According to the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC), limiting your consumption of meat has many benefits. In fact, if all Australians ate 150 grams less of red meat per week, each person could reduce greenhouse gas pollution by 300kg each year. Thats the same as taking an eighth of Australias cars off the road!**... **Find out more at https://www.arrcc.org.au/why_eat_less_meat See more
06.01.2022 Origins of Christmas and Advent When the Roman Empire was gradually becoming Christian, it was a standard strategy of the church to take already existing feasts and Christianise them. The date of 25 December was chosen because there was already a Roman midwinter feast celebrating the darkest time of the year, that is the time of least sunlight. Just as is the case with our winter solstice in June. The Roman feast was a celebration of the returning sun. Visit the Parish Blog to read the full article at www.cbdparish.org.au/news/blog/
