See www.mwf.com.au for festival overview and http://tickets.mwf.com.au/browse2_mwf.asp to join one of the walks - Saturday 24th and Friday 30th August. Be lovely to see you there, cheers Maya

17.01.2022 A number of people have asked me to post on what I’m reading for my PhD in Creative Writing that is getting me so excited. I’ve discovered so much, and I think a selection of favourites would differ according to mood. Some of these books I’ve been reading for years, but they are continually revealing new layers of meaning; I'm very grateful to all these brave and tenacious authors. Today, I highly recommend any of the following: Abram, David. Becoming Animal: An Earthly Cosm...Continue reading

17.01.2022 It was a hot bright day with a warm desert wind when David Abram and I set out to visit Martin Prechtel. It took awhile to find his ranch, we had to ask a number of the locals of Ojo Caliente there were no signs, no outward signs of what lay within. It reminded me of Australia at first; jumping out of the car and walking on the sandy earth to open the farm gates, one then two, till we got to the barn where Martin’s two young daughters were playing with kittens, and we met H...Continue reading

Thanks to Sarah Houseman for asking me to be part of their inspiring series. Be lovely to see some of you there!

03.01.2022 If you're feeling sad, hopeless, frustrated or furious after the fires, and wanting to move those emotions, connect with others and channel your emotions into action, then Soul Dance has organised a dance-based grief and empowerment ritual based on the Deep Ecology work of Joanna Macy. It's also a fundraiser for the wildlife refuge that burnt down in Goongerah in the East Gippsland fires. Love to see you there!
