Come along to Harmonia Health on Thursday afternoons at 4pm and see your childs nervous tension slip away as they learn to have fun and relax with yoga.

14.01.2022 I think I have shared this before but it is worth a repeat!

13.01.2022 As most of you already know, I was there on Friday. I was one of the first responders at Bourke Street. Attached is a photo from ABC, thats me in the black. I...m very aware that I have a great support network behind me. My friends, my family, thank you for the endless support over the last few days. And for those concerned, I have access to professional counselling too. Im sharing this for a few reasons; Firstly, Ive been ignoring the news, I couldnt even turn on the radio or look at a newspaper. But Ive come to realise, talking about this openly is the right thing to do. And secondly, Id love the community support, to share this. I want to reach out to those others who were there with me that day. Ive been struggling to find an avenue to contact you, I just want give us an opportunity to talk with somebody else who was there that day. Warning: Some people may find the details of my story distressing. I talk about the critically injured and deceased. My story starts with me going about my day, as we all were in the city on Friday. As I was walking out of a building on Queen Street, it only took me a few steps to realise straight away something was wrong. It was as though everyone was frozen in time, it felt as though the whole city was standing still, like every was in on a mannequin challenge and didnt tell me. Not a single person seemed to be moving, something very foreign in the middle of a busy city. Ill soon come to learn that its because theyre all in shock, trying to comprehend what they all just witnessed. A car purposely running down their fellow citizens. Im on Queen, as I looked toward the corner of Bourke, the first signs of what unfolded began to show. I saw a blue suitcase, which had been crushed. It was the type you would see taken as a carry-on (someone must have been wheeling it alongside them on the footpath) As I walked a few steps closer to the corner, thats when it started to become clear that something terrible had just taken place. This exact moment is actually hard for me to visually recall. Its as though I had just been staring at something really bright, and I have one of those black circles covering the centre of my vision. Its just a bit of a blur. I can however, recall the words I thought at that very moment quite clearly; body, blood, motionless.. My attention was then quickly drawn to my right, Im now looking down Bourke Street. More accurately, Im looking down the footpath of Bourke Street. As you can see in the image, the building on this corner is under construction. One side is just a wall, no doors or gaps to jump out of the way. The other side has large steel scaffolding beams. You can start to imagine how hopeless the pedestrians felt as this car came roaring toward them. Bodies.. I see several bodies on the ground. The luckiest will get up soon and hop away with bruises. The closest to me, a lady laying semi-conscious face down on the ground. She looked like she had just been dropped there like a damaged toy, not a single limb was in a position youd associate with normal. Till now, only a few brief moments had actually passed since I first saw that blue suitcase, time was still in slow motion. This was the point in time when the mannequin challenge suddenly unfreezes. It was time to act! We all snapped into action. A man about my age, a tradesman (Ive since learnt his name to be Alex) in an orange high vis top had already laid himself down next to this lady. He had his cheek on the concert with his face up to hers. Eye to eye. He was speaking to her, whether she was listening or not, he was determined to make sure she knew that he was here for her and that she was okay. Sir, I dont know your name, and Id love to find out who you are because you need to know I have the utmost respect for you. You helped bring her back into reality! A true saviour. I was the second person to be by her side, I gave myself the role to start assessing her injuries. It was clear by the way her legs lay, that both were severely injured. The impact of the car shattering the bones in both legs.. We knew that the priority above all else was to ensure she didnt move, fearing for spinal injuries. I put one hand on her shoulder, and the other on her waist, restricting her movements as much as I can. Meanwhile the tradesman continued to reassure her that she needs to try stay still and were here for her. A lady joins us (pictured in the grey top) she selflessly takes her jacket and makes a pillow to ease the pain from her head on the hard footpath. Even something which seems so simple at the time, made a huge difference for her. It gave her a sense of support and it seemed to calm her. I take a moment to gauge my immediate surroundings. I see handbags torn apart. I see shoes on the ground meters apart (I know whos they are). I see several pieces of a stainless-steel watch scattered into bits, (this used to be on someones wrist). Not the lady Im trending to though, shes still wearing her watch. I now take more notice further down the street. 2 metres away I see a person laying on their back. Theyre bleeding from their abdomen, every heartbeat, a tiny bit more blood. Its clear they have internal injuries. Further down the street again, more people laying on the ground surrounded by volunteers, but too far away for me to work out whats going on. I return my concentration back to where its needed. The first emergency services arrive, police officers. They start joining us with the injured. They help not by trying to take over the situation, but joining in and assisting in any way they can. They had basic first aid supplies so we started bandaging wounds. Running down from the corner where I saw the suitcase, another civilian. But this time it would be the first person with a form of medical training, a student paramedic! (Sarah Maclure) Shes the one pictured in the orange top, you see her frantically running between the injured helping best she can. I learnt from her that a 10yo was going into arrest. She was another true hero of the day. If I could see you again, Id hug you for all you did to help that day. You were exceptional! The student paramedics helped us by looking over her injuries. With concerns for the blood flow in her legs, she looked at us and said "this is going to fu**ing hurt her", but we needed to roll her on her back and straighten out her legs. It was this, or she could risk losing them. So, we agreed. There was enough of us to support her along her body as we rolled her over, we did our best to do it gently, but pain was inevitable. I now, for the first time, have a clear view of this injured ladies face. We look at each other and I was instantly overwhelmed with appreciation of how tough a person you are. I dont think I could have been as strong as you were this day. You knew exactly what was going on, you felt every bit of the pain, but you were quiet and composed. As horrific the circumstances were that day, Im glad I was able to be there. I was able to meet a stranger, to kneel with you and hold your hand. I learnt your name, I learnt you had Christmas at your house in Plumpton this year. You were comparing your pain with that of childbirth. You spoke to us all! It felt like an eternity. Form the moment I was first next to you, till the moment an ambulance arrived and we lifted you up on the stretcher to go to hospital. That moment is the last I know of you. I just wish I knew you were okay. I hope we meet again one day! A final thank you needs to be given to those others I didnt specially mention in my story, there were other civilians who sat by me and assisted. The second tradesman, you were in the grey top, you ran to find materials to make a makeshift splint for her legs. Another student paramedic who assisted to make a splint for a broken arm. I do remember each and every one of your faces, youll live with me in that moment forever. Please contact me if you read this. And of course, the emergency services Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria. Everything I saw that day was above and beyond. Daniel Andrews, you should be proud. **UPDATE: Thank you all for sharing my story, because of your kindness, several others have already reached out to me and weve formed a group. The support from you and them has been endless! But we still need more help: do you know someone who was there? Some of us met you, we were by your side, were looking for you! Please contact me via direct message**
