16.01.2022 Good luck to all the Year 12's beginning their exams this week! 2020 has been a difficult year for all, but it has been impressive to see the resilience and determination of our 2020 graduates

16.01.2022 Previous Essington student Jordan from Headspace, along with Shaylee and Ira have been working with our Year 9 students, teaching them about Mental Health. The students gained an understanding of how to look after their own mental health, what to do to assist others and learned about some of the common mental health disorders. We thank headspace for their time and effort in working with our students.

16.01.2022 RSCPA is a charity close to all our hearts. In keeping with Essington's sense of Territory Spirit, our students joined forces and put their baking skills to the test, creating cupcakes, brownies and sweets to sell at our RSPCA Cupcake Bake Sale Everyone pitched in to make todays stall a resounding success and we were humbled at the support to raise funds for our furry friends.

15.01.2022 Lest We Forget Led by Essington’s Defence School Mentor, Mr Chris Mayes, we honoured Remembrance Day by creating our own Field of Poppies, around which we observed a minute of silence. Students and staff helped create and plant the poppies, before joining together and remembering those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.... A lovely commemoration, and a big thanks to Mr Chris for organising. Defence Community Organisation

12.01.2022 This term, our Junior School students gathered with music teacher, Miss Hartmann, to ‘make their mark’ in the world. The Dot illustrates the power of one single adult's actions to change a child's life. It speaks to the importance of teacher-student relationships, and our connections as human beings. It shows how creative thinking on the part of a teacher can unlock a child's own creativity, confidence, and growth. There is nothing better than seeing what a child can create j...ust with a little bit of encouragement, each ‘mark’ different to the next. The students came together in the Auditorium to celebrate creating their own dot with The Dot Song. When you make make make a mark, all you gotta do is start ~Miss Hartmann #dotsong #makeamark

12.01.2022 Exciting news! The first shipment of the new Essington uniform has arrived. The cost of the Rugby Jumper is $72 and can be purchased from the Uniform Shop on the following days:... Tuesdays @ 1pm - 4pm Fridays @ 8am 11am Given the current weather situation it is not a necessity to purchase a jumper. 05.01.2022 The 2020 Exhibition showcased the uniqueness of our Stage 2 Art students and their ability to present high standard artworks in the pursuit of their own personal aesthetic. The different art styles included Christine’s Expressionist response to Kandinsky and colour psychology, Sarah’s personal application of the Manga genre and Marinelle’s narrative realism, which reflected her studies of Klimt and Del Barton. The night was a wonderful success and received phenomenal approval from all visitors ~ Colleen McDade-Broer, Middle & Senior School Art Teacher

02.01.2022 Thanks to a generous grant from the NT Government under the Building Better Schools initiative and the professional expertise of our contractor BP Building Services, all four of the Junior School bathrooms have been given a very welcome upgrade over the September holidays. The refurbishment provides for improved amenities for students and for disability access as well as the designation of a gender-neutral bathroom. Our staff bathrooms are also getting a makeover. The finishing touches will be completed over the weekend with everything spick and span by Monday!
