Choose fresh food Cook with dry legumes Grate a fresh coconut and make coconut milk Slice fresh corn, beetroot etc Blend fresh tomatoes for sauces If you give it some thought it’s actually easy to replace tinned food. 05.01.2022 Do suffer from stomach discomfort? You could be eating before your previous meal has digested. Food should be eaten only after the previous meal has been digested. If we eat before our previous meal is digested this will disrupt the digestion of that meal, and weaken the digestive fire. Our digestive fire (Agni) has to be strong to digest food. As a result, the food will not be... digested properly. This undigested food will cause you discomfort in the stomach and ultimately cause toxins (Ama) in the body. You may ask how do I know if my previous meal has digested? There’s a few indicators: - You will have a feeling of lightness and energy in the body - Your burps will be without smell or taste - Your urine is not coloured - The mind feels calm and stable So it is best not to eat again until these bodily signals are present. It is important to give your body time to rest and digest your meals and not constantly eating more food. TRY THIS: Sip hot water, when you burp, if you can still taste your meal, it hasn’t digested yet.

Besan Protein Pancakes Serves: 1-2 (Gluten Free) Ingredients: Besan (Black gram) flour 1 heaped cup (about 250ml) Salt per taste Ajwain seeds1 tsp Cumin 1 tsp Turmeric 14 tsp Water 1-2 cups Oil/ghee for cooking Fresh coriander chopped Method: In a large bowl mix flour, salt, ajwain, chopped coriander, turmeric & cumin seeds. Add water & mix well (a whisker works well) to make a batter, ensuring no lumps of flour remain, it should be running but not too watery. Heat tawa or non stick pan and drizzle on 1 teaspoon of ghee. Spoon batter onto pan and spread to make a pancake. Shallow fry for about 12-1 minute, until the flour starts to darken in colour and bubble Flip over and cook on other side for 12-1 minute. Spoon a little more oil or ghee on the sides of the pancake to make it crisp. Flip it one more time and cook for about 10 seconds. Serve hot with chutney and/or veggies. Note: This is great replacement for meat, as it is much easier to digest and high in protein. Great for weight loss, diabetes. Good for a sluggish lymphatic system and water retention. It is a wonderful recipe for kids, especially when they are not interested in eating proteins. Good for asthma & bronchitis conditions. Enjoy!
