22.01.2022 I was blown away when I picked up these hampers from Forest Flowers - they are huge and absolutely packed with goodies for the whole family! Can't wait to give them away tomorrow night at the Community Movie Night to two lucky door prize winners! There are great prizes from all the sponsors BOQ Forest Lake, Charles Strunk Councillor for Forest Lake Ward, Allstars Performing Arts, One Agency Forest Lake, Hosanna Church Brisbane :)

21.01.2022 The April edition is now online with the delivery to letterboxes this week. The stands at the shopping centre will be filled on Friday as usual but due to the social distancing guidelines, we will only be doing this bulk drop off and not the usual copies to the other businesses. We're going to keep some at the office, so if you want a physical copy and can't get one, just let us know and we'll post it to you (no charge of course!) :)... We are all well here but are committed to self-isolation where possible in the best interests of the wider community. And we're already thinking up some great new content we can include as our wonderful clubs and groups hibernate during this challenging time. Stay safe everyone and keep an eye out for the April edition coming this week :)

01.01.2022 Just want to let everyone know that here at The Lake News, it's business as usual! If you're a business owner who needs to get the word out there about how your business has changed, or simply to let people know you're still open, talk to us, we are happy to work with everyone's budget to help your business survive these tough times. Call us on 3201 1880 or send an email to [email protected] :) ... I'll leave you with these great words I was sent today: "When the Going Gets Tough... Most businesses will understandably make a concerted effort to cut costs when turnover and GP decreases. However, studies have shown that those advertisers that maintained or grew their ad spending increased sales and market share during the recession and importantly, afterwards. Strategies can be many and varied however the message is cleardont disappear from the market place as this could very well be costly in the long term. Fight for survival. Keep your brand awareness going. A very good strategy used by marketers is changing the ad message and using short-term price incentives to match the economic climate with many consumers seeking a good deal. When the economy bounces back, regular pricing can return. Others that dont give cost incentives can change the ad message to being perhaps expensive but worth it! Point out the value the brand provides, the benefits of a particular product and why it is market leading. During these uncertain times a multi-pronged approach is a necessity. Radio advertising can be effective in a buoyant climate, however, the message lasts a few seconds and then it is gone. Television advertising is much the same. Print advertising is a different story altogether. These ads are read and reread. When coupled with online and social media these are very powerful tools. Social media posts are wide reaching and our platform is market leading by a very big margin. Articles posted online will be there and easily accessible for the rest of eternity. When times are good you should advertise and more importantly when times are tough you must advertise."

01.01.2022 The February edition is now online :) Deadline date for March edition is Friday 14 February.

01.01.2022 The October edition of The Lake News is now online :) Deadline for the November edition is the end of this week. Have a great rest of the week!
