15.01.2022 Dearest families and friends, and specifically parents of children with Autism aged between 4 to 12 years, Beyond Words Therapy Centre has recently engaged with... a representative at The University of Queensland Early Cognitive Development Centre (ECDC) who is conducting a valuable study to investigate the participation barriers and facilitators in extra-curricular activities for 4- to 12-year-old children with ASD. As part of this study, parents are asked to complete two online questionnaires, both of which can be completed at any time. This research will help us better understand what makes it easier or harder to participate in extra-curricular activities. While this may not be of direct benefit to you, it is expected to benefit parents of all children in the future. The benefits may include knowledge regarding participation, positive and informed program and policy development, and the development of ways to overcome identified barriers to participation. Participation in this research study will also assist me to gain my honours degree in psychology. The study takes approximately 25-35 minutes to complete.
