Simon 'The Wizard' Whitlock - looks more like Brett Lee than Brett Lee does but the bogan can throw a dart 9. Daniel Ricciardo - elevated the shoey to the world stage, bloke can drive too 8. Ben Simmons - taken pick #1 in 2016 NBA draft, no mean feat. Would look good in a Boomers jersey 7. Ash Barty - finally an Aussie tennis star we're not ashamed of! World #1, super... 6. Damian Lane - single-handed he's kept my TAB account in the black 5. Samantha Kerr - genuine world-class footballer. Scores goals for fun, arguably the best female footballer on the planet 4. Winx - champion mare who gave racing the good feels when we needed it. Unbeatable for her last 33 starts, superstar 3. Ellyse Perry - represented Australia in two sports - two! Star footballer and champion cricketer, once in a generation sportsperson. A great role model on top of all that 2. Steve Smith - has scored a power of runs this decade, widely regarded as the best since Bradman. His recent Ashes series was remarkable. 1. Black Caviar - unparalleled in her achievements. Anywhere, anytime. Simply the greatest I've ever seen, she's top of this list by a long, long way. Who did I miss? Happy New Year folks.

16.01.2022 Facebook just told me I haven't said anything for a while and asked me "what's on your mind?" So here goes! Firstly, it appears what's on my mind is way out of touch! Why are people so shocked that a guy who said he was going to retire a few years ago actually retires? He's won a flag and had a knee re-co since then, so why not? And the love spewing his way since is getting too much. Yeah, Rance was a good player and probably the best defender in the past 4-5 years. But today... I read someone comparing him to Silvagni, Jakovich and Scarlett. Surely they're taking the piss? Let's just celebrate that he was the number one defender in a premiership side and a good player. Secondly (and lastly, this will be quick) the 'best of the decade' arguments are in full swing. Please, no more comparing Black Caviar and Winx. Both were champions who gave us great moments, love them both! (For what it's worth, I'm well and truly in Black Caviar's corner!!) See more

11.01.2022 Introduced the mini-musters to SuperCoach in the Big Bash. It's been all consuming. I don't even remember what we used to talk about.

10.01.2022 Lots of people seem to be whinging about the big bash game in Canberra being delayed by smoke. How refreshing would it be if someone mentioned the communities battling with the source of that smoke? Perspective please folks.

06.01.2022 Watching an old Firzroy game, hard to know how they were so bad with future premiership players like Lynch, Primus, Johnson, Pike etc. Also names like Rombotis, Bizzotto and Zanotti. So yeah, maybe I get it.
