25.01.2022 Our social club hosted an Australia Day BBQ for our residents. The food was delicious and the evening was enjoyed by all those who attended. We even had a display of some memorabilia and a few Aussie animals made an appearance.

12.01.2022 The Springs was awarded the runner up in this year's Christmas lights competition. Very pleased with this. Congratulations to all the winners. There are some amazing displays in Ipswich. To all the residents in the village that put up lights, thank you. It's lovely to see. (Please note: with the rain predicted for the weekend, the lights won't be turned on if it does rain)

04.01.2022 Some pics of the flooding in Bundamba Creek the day after we received 10 inches of rain of ex-cyclone Debbie. These pics were taken around 8.30am. The peak was at 2.00am earlier that day and was about 1.5 metres higher than it is in the photos. The water was over the table in the gazebo in the second photo.
03.01.2022 What did you do on the weekend? WORKING people often ask us, as a retired couple, what we do to make our days interesting. Well, the other day my husband and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about five minutes. When we came out, there was a police officer writing out a parking ticket. We, of course, went up to him and said: "Come on sir, how about giving two pensioners a break?" The police officer ignored us and continued writing the ti...cket. So I called him a total pillock. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tyres. So my husband called him a bastard. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. We continued to call him every name we could think of... and he just kept writing those tickets... This went on for about 20 minutes, before our bus arrived. 03.01.2022 Preparations are well under way for our Cancer Council Morning Tea on Thursday 25th May at our village hall. Why not get some friends together and join us in the fight against cancer while enjoying some live music and good food. RSVP by Friday 19th May. We look forward to seeing you there.

02.01.2022 On Wednesday 15th February, a new plaque was unveiled on the Thomas St/Bundamba Creek Bridge at Silkstone. The Hon Bill Hayden unveiled the original plaque many years ago and we were fortunate to have him return to unveil the new one. Following the formalities, a morning tea was held at The Springs Lifestyle Village Community Hall attended by The Hon Bill Hayden, his lovely wife, Dallas, Jennifer Howard MP, Cr Kylie Stoneman - Division 4 - Ipswich, The Village management and a large turnout of village residents.
