23.01.2022 Big day out. 3 Miler loops, 63.4km of every feeling and emotion. I loved the banter, support, push, seeing others moving so well, and thanks to those helping to clean the sand out The first marathon was quite a battle both mentally and physically, several fatigued days prior, poor sleep, waking up at 215am to run for nearly 10 hours was always going to be a challenge. The last loop my mind and body stepped up when required which I’m pleased with. Thankyou to everyone th...at supported me and enjoyed their own run . Fun, battle, time to learn from my bodies and crews responses and support See more
15.01.2022 9km of drowning, 1km of no rain. Easy Tuesday running to low HR. On the easy runs I try to keep my heart rate at 180bpm less my age (42), therefore at 138bpm or less. This reduces the stress on my body, my body is searching for fat to burn as fuel allowing it to operate longer and more efficiently (but not faster). I find these runs are perfect for allowing my body to remain fresh when running bigger kms and running most days. The ultimate goal being able to run efficiently all day, all night and all day. Then run some more
12.01.2022 Wild one. But relatively dry. I’ve been flat the last few days. Tired quads into the wind and the little hills. I ate 1/2 my dinner before leaving to run with food in stomach to get used to it, something to work on or work up. Time to freshen up for tomorrow’s mid week long run.
09.01.2022 Easy 10km Recovery run after a big weekend of running. 100km for the week for the 4th week in a row. Weight between 76-77kg. I was about 84kg at the beginning of the year.
08.01.2022 A few key elements on my training. Monday was an exceptional day as I chose to sleep in that extra 1.5hr to really rest up and had a scheduled no running day. 34bpm is down there with my lowest, and well below my average, usually low 40s. My heart rate got a chance to rest and my VO2 max is back on its way up after months of slow and easy runs. Highest I’ve had was 55 or 56.
