04.06.2022 Six weeks to NCC19 adoption in WA - going to be a busy few weeks for a lot of designers I am sure!

25.05.2022 Three months to go until NCC2019 applies....or will we learn there has been a further extension on the transitional arrangements 3 days before (again)? Who knows, all we can do is work towards NCC2019 on 1st May and keep you updated on any changes.

21.05.2022 Looks like we are still on track for NCC2019 being adopted on 01 May 2020 - despite NCC2022 being delayed! Please be aware of the increased stringency for commercial projects and the practical end of verification method for residential!

03.05.2022 Interesting idea - running cold water through the walls/ceiling to create a cooling effect without AC.. https://www.hvacrnews.com.au//cold-tube-chilled-panels-be/

24.04.2022 DMIRS have just announced a further 12 month transition for NCC2016 - further info to follow!

25.01.2022 Have you seen the proposed/draft changes to NCC 2019? Some pretty significant stringency increases are slated for commercial buildings. Residential will also have an overhaul with proposed max cooling and heating loads, and a tightening of Verification method modelling requirements. We expect this will be a pretty serious shift and some designs we currently can certify may not be possible under NCC 2019

22.01.2022 Great to see some progress shots from Shelter Brewing Co Busselton, a project we are helping with the energy compliance side of things. Look forward to enjoying a beer here soon! Design and Paul Burnham Architect

20.01.2022 Hybrid and electric cars have been around for a little while, but we haven't (personally) seen these in SUV size until now. Hope to see some out on the road soon!

19.01.2022 The Regatta Apartments in Rivervale are taking shape, and the exterior scafolding is almost down. Still a a few months to go but they are looking good!

18.01.2022 A good listen. Do you agree that the next generation seeks higher density and the benefits that come with this - walkable cities, entertainment nearby?

14.01.2022 Interesting article which highlights some of the reasons homes perform better in summer than winter - and the reason homes with dark roofs typically achieve a higher rating than those with light coloured roofs.

09.01.2022 I like the Lexus and Camry analogy - more people taking these options up will result in lower prices - just look at solar PV!

05.01.2022 Master Buildings Association and HIA have released member alerts that the heating and cooling caps set to be introduced on 1st May will be deferred in WA. This heating/cooling cap was targeting the 10% outlying designs which were showing either too much heating or cooling (ie an un-balanced performance over the year). No official word from the government department as of yet - but interestingly it looks like the changes to VURB are going ahead as planned.

04.01.2022 Energy efficiency conference held in a glass box, the irony isn't lost on us

03.01.2022 Currently at the MCG for #ARER2018, never knew they used lights/heaters on the grounds

02.01.2022 ...code-compliance is the minimum that is not illegal, or barely legal
