25.01.2022 Have you had a chance to reflect on the past year and consider what you'll continue doing and what you'll do less of? Welcome to the December Stand Up! Lets calibrate, collaborate and iterate together. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/do-you-have-the-best/

24.01.2022 Ive been having a bit of a fun conversation on LinkedIn about this. And while it can be funny to pay out on Gantt charts and old fashioned stage gating, if youre just starting out on your Agile journey, and you collaborate to visualise your waterfall plan, youre off to a great start! You dont have to do everything at once, so start somewhere. Just keep going! #youvegotthis #Agile

23.01.2022 As part of my Past Year Review and 2020 planning, I have reflected on some of the amazing feedback from my workshops. This is a stand-out, as it reminds me why I do what I do. Read more in the December Stand Up - out tomorrow!

23.01.2022 Welcome to the first post in a series on Strengths in Uncertainty. First up is Genevieve Smith, owner of Biomechanics on Brunswick Physio. Genevieve shares how she used her Activator and supporting strengths to respond quickly to COVID19. As a fellow Activator, I learned a lot about how I could flex my Activator strength in this time of uncertainty. Thanks for activating and going first, Genevieve! https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

23.01.2022 This time last week I was looking up at the goat track of a scramble that would take me to the Peak of Mt Ossa, Tasmania's highest mountain. It was impossible to look at it without thinking: "can I do this?" (or possibly something else), but also: "One does not simply walk into Mordor". But I did. This week is a different challenge. A rapidly changing world - cancelled live workshops and a bigger demand for virtual coaching and facilitation. A BIG need to adapt. If that much can change in one week, what does next week look like? How are you adapting to these rapid changes in our world? And what help do you need?

22.01.2022 Continuous Learning! Continuous Evolution! I love running our Agile Ready program! Pikachu often features to remind us that although its important to understand the basics, we must always be looking to evolve, and that means change, and the willingness and flexibility to do so. Are you ready? #agile #agiletraining #lovewhatido... https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/agile-ready/

22.01.2022 The thought of writing my usual newsletter sharing accomplishments etc felt a bit strange given the current climate. We're all just doing the best we can - aren't we? So, this month I'm choosing to focus on the bright spots.... Click below to read the March Stand Up and please, share with me how you're doing too. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/focus-on-bright-spots/

21.01.2022 After I shared my January blog, I've had a few conversations about the power of making personal change, and the impact it has. Its bigger than we realise, AND in our control! A colleague shared this quote with me, and it resonates so much. Missed the blog post? You can find it here: https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/the-gift-of-bad-beha/

21.01.2022 I've been reflecting on this quite a lot lately, and I truly believe that success with #Agile comes down to one thing: doing the work and doing it consistently. So often I see teams 'opting out' before they have really tried, or giving up too soon. https://medium.com//what-it-really-takes-to-be-successful-

21.01.2022 This morning I was up extra early writing my newsletter, recalling my Bright Spots for July. It feels like an super-indulgent thing to do - just looking for all the positives in what has been a challenging few months. But it felt wonderful to focus on just the positives for a few moments, and definitely helped me start the day stronger. I totally recommend this activity! Wishing you all a wonderful day.

17.01.2022 I absolutely loved my interview with Charlotte Blair. An experienced Strengths coach I only connected with in the last year, Charlotte has been an incredibly supportive part of my Strengths journey. Her energy and ability to connect others stand out in regular times, and has amped up in this more challenging time. I learned a lot, as I always do when I catch up with Charlotte, in particular about how Significance shows up in times of uncertainty. #covid19 #strengths #agilecoaching https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

16.01.2022 Heartfelt wishes for a very happy Christmas from everyone at Agile PM HQ. We hope it's full of joy, and most importantly, rest. We'll be taking a break over the Christmas period - looking forward to re-connecting and sharing all things Agile with you in 2020!

16.01.2022 Connectedness - probably one of the most misunderstood of the Strengths - has been helpful for me personally during this time of uncertainty. For Clare Robinson, it's been exceptionally helpful to balance out her need to 'act now' and the need to take a step back and think more strategically. Clare is highly talented in the Strategic domain, and those Strengths have supported her Connectedness in ensuring perspective and purposeful action during this time. I learned so much! You can read more and listen to our interview over at the latest blog post: https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

16.01.2022 Welcome to another instalment of Strengths in Uncertainty! Introducing Nicole Jones, Virtual Assistant extraordinaire. We have been working together for well over a year, and Nicole has not only helped me keep my business on track but opened my eyes to just how valuable a VA can be. Nicole is a talented communicator, and she has clearly invested time and energy to make Communication a top Strength. In our interview, we talked about how her Communication Strength is supported by her Empathy, and how they work together to ensure things get done - especially during this time of uncertainty. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

15.01.2022 Chatting to a few fellow project managers today, we agreed that expecting a plan that gives certainty (i.e. dates) is an unrealistic expectation. We are experiencing a period of ambiguity that is unprecedented, and while a Gantt chart makes everyone feel better (extra points if it's printed and laminated), it means nothing when the situation is changing so rapidly. I'm looking forward to seeing the plan like everyone else, but I definitely won't be breaking out the laminator, but rather assessing options to continue to deal with change. How do you cope with ambiguity?

15.01.2022 How have your priorities changed in this pandemic? My September definitely reflected some changes, and I’m sure yours did too. Welcome to the September Stand Up. I’m looking forward to sharing what I got up to, and of course, hearing about yours. Let’s use this time of continuing incredible change to calibrate, collaborate and iterate together. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/the-fourth-quarter/ #agile #workingagile #agileprojects #agileleaders #agileteams #agileprojectmanager

15.01.2022 Can you believe January is almost finished? My January has flown past, jam packed full of workshops. It's great to see so many people, teams and organisations embracing Agile as a way of working. Biggest takeouts from participants? - The importance of adapting to the rapidly accelerating pace of change - Its okay to make mistakes, just keep learning - Set your team up for success with a team social contract ... - Change starts with me How has your January been? What have you learned? #agile #agilecoaching #agileteams #leadership

14.01.2022 I've paused a bit on my #strengthsinuncertainty series and have been a bit overwhelmed with everything going on. So I thought I would share a bit about me, my Strengths and hopefully explain why I get stuck in my head at times like these. I'm grateful for the support from my amazing network at times like these - it means I'm never stuck for long. Stay tuned for more interviews on Strengths in Uncertainty! #Strengths #covid19 https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/this-is-me/

13.01.2022 Today I'm sharing my July bright spots, and would love to hear yours. #workingagile #agileteams #agileprojects #brightspots https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/july-bright-spots/

13.01.2022 Today I'm sharing my August Stand Up (still with bright spots) on the topic of being kind, and continuous change. Lets use this time of incredible change to calibrate, collaborate and iterate together. #standup #workingagile #agileteams #agileleadership #agilecoach #agileprojects https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/being-kind-and-conti/

13.01.2022 Being accredited as an Unlearn Facilitator has to be a recent highlight for me and you can read about that (and other updates) in this month's newsletter. Welcome to the November Stand Up. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/the-power-of-unlearn/

12.01.2022 Today I'm sharing my June bright spots. Wherever you are, and whatever youre experiencing, I hope youre staying as positive as you can and looking for ways you can contribute. Because the world needs what you have. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/june-bright-spots/

11.01.2022 Learner - an awesome strength at the best of times, and a handy strength in the worst of times. Welcome to the next instalment of Strengths in Uncertainty! It's no surprise I learned heaps in my interview with Helen Palmer as she shared how she's leaned into her Learner and Intellection Strengths to deal with the uncertainty of Covid-19. I know you will enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed interviewing! https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/... #strengthsinuncertainty #Gallupstrengths #COVID19

11.01.2022 Thrilled to run my Strengths workshop online for my client today. Talk about an engaged, focused team willing to embrace a new way of working! I love that technology enables me to continue to do what I do and make a difference during this challenging time. #agile #strengths #newwaysofworking

11.01.2022 This is a time of year where the internet is divided. There are those people who are super excited and energised: "New Year, New Me". And those who are tired: it's been a big year and there's this sense of relief that doesn't seem to fit with the sparkly 'Goalz' memes. If you're feeling this way, don't lose heart. It's probably a sign that you're more than ready to face the future. It's probably a sign that it's time to grow. Check out my latest blog and let me know if this resonates with you. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/time-to-grow/

10.01.2022 Coronavirus has definitely challenged how we work. how is everyone adjusting? I've been talking to quite a few people about this over the past week, and have summarised my thoughts on LinkedIn. Let me know what you think! https://www.linkedin.com//upsides-new-normal-emma-sharro/

09.01.2022 Don't you just HATE it when other people do things that are just NOT ON? You know the kind of behaviour I'm talking about - being rude, controlling, inflexible, uncollaborative. The kind of stuff that makes you shake your fist in the air? I do too, but I also see it as a gift and an opportunity. An opportunity to improve ourselves. Get ready to feel a bit awkward but I promise you'll feel better for it, not to mention have some actions you can take away from this month's blog. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/the-gift-of-bad-beha/

09.01.2022 Thank goodness February has 29 days this month! I'm JUST making it on time to share February's blog with you. In it, I'm sharing the highlights of the Female Influencers in Technology (FIIT) event in Melbourne where I spoke about adapting to change by Being the Agile Leader. I would love to hear what you think! #Agile #Agilecoaching #Change https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/being-the-agile-lead/

08.01.2022 Excited to share my first guest post by the amazing Helen Palmer. I interviewed Helen as part of my #strengthsinuncertainty series and we could have talked for hours. We have both worked in the project delivery space and have experienced the challenges of delivering complex change. We agreed that Project Managers and Change Managers don’t always play that well together. In her article Helen shares her thoughts on how this relationship can be improved. Simple actions that can make a big difference. I would love to know what you think - what actions have you tried? What else would you add? https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/five-things-project-/

08.01.2022 Strengths in Uncertainty. Today we're exploring Arranger. Jeanette Cremor - JC is a super-experienced project leadership professional and uses her Arranger strength to create and implement models and frameworks that get exceptional results for her clients. During this time of uncertainty, JC has been leaning on these frameworks to keep on track herself, ensuring she stays focused on looking after her clients and community. I loved interviewing JC, and I know you will love listening! https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

08.01.2022 I love this so much Im okay with there being more than one item per post-it. Especially the last point. We ARE going to be okay. Recently Ive been having conversations with clients and friends about how they are dealing with this crazy new world we find ourselves in. Im amazed and inspired by the strength of humanity at this time. Were all doing the best we can, in our own unique ways. Ive captured these conversations and will be sharing over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

07.01.2022 Thrilled to celebrate the launch of my second book: High-Performance Executive Leadership last night. It was a fabulous evening, and wonderful to be surrounded by the clever and inspiring people I count as friends. Thank you for being part of my writing journey!

05.01.2022 Over 20 years ago, this day changed my life forever. Today I'm remembering it through the lens of this new sense of uncertainty that has impacted the world. Our capacity to get through tough times, to survive (and thrive) in uncertainty is greater than we know. We don't often know how capable we are until those capabilities are tested. And we all get through - just in our own way. #wevegotthis #covid19 #strengthsinuncertainty https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/strengths-in-uncerta/

05.01.2022 February was a big month - it must have been that extra day! Here's what I got up to. How was your February? What are you looking forward to finishing by the end of Q1 2020? And what do you need to believe? #agilecoaching #leadership #goals https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/what-do-you-believe/

05.01.2022 Time is flying regardless of the events, would you agree? And I feel like we are in the grip of a productivity crisis of sorts. The knowledge we have more time because there is less commuting etc., but realising we DONT because of homeschooling, upskilling to operate virtually and general feelings of anxiousness because, well, pandemic. I talk about this, and some April bright spots, in this month's update. Happy reading :) https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/april-bright-spots/

05.01.2022 If December was all about finishing, January was about starting with the end in mind (as Stephen Covey famously said). Thinking about what done looks like helps with that laser sharp focus! With that in mind, welcome to the January Stand Up! Click below to read about my month, and of course, I look forward to hearing about yours. Lets calibrate, collaborate and iterate together. #workingagile #agilecoach #agileteams #focus... https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/starting-with-the-en/

04.01.2022 This week has been spent reflecting on 2019 and planning 2020. And not just what I'm going to DO but what I want to learn. I know that if I don't schedule my learning plans, they are harder to fit in later. The speed of change means we can't afford to stop learning, so I'm looking for conferences and events to challenge my thinking, and courses to build on what I know well. What are your plans to make sure you remain green and growing in 2020?

03.01.2022 Excited to share my interview with Emma Kirkwood today. Emma has Input as a top Strength and I learned a lot from our chat. Emma also helped me ensure these interviews were shared - after all, what good is learning if you can't share what you learn? Looking forward to hearing what you think!

02.01.2022 Hip hip hooray! I'm celebrating my book, The Agile Project Manager, turning four. What a wonderful ride it's been. Thanks so much for the support you've shown and the engagement over the years. For those of you who have not yet read the book, click here to hear the audio of the introduction chapter. https://theagileprojectmanager.com.au/the-book/... Time to have a slice of cake :)
