11.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE about today's Summer Solstice Witch Circle At 11am this morning, the NSW Premier announced tighter restrictions in light of COVID-19 infections on the Northern Beaches. This means we can only have 10 Witches at today's planned Solstice gathering. While we can still hold our Witch Circle we must have a first in first, first served limit to 10 Witches only.... Unfortunately, singing and dancing are not going to be permitted, on advice from the NSW State's lead medical doctor. :-( ... we will have a low-key Witch Circle meetup instead. Mara has prepared a presentation on the Summer Solstice, and she will share that in the Alchemy Space, however you will be required to wear a mask. Having a mask will be a condition of entry at today's Witch Circle meetup. Please make sure you have one. It's that time of year again to break out singing the ol' 13th century hit "Sumer is icumen in"! Yes, tomorrow we are celebrating the Summer Solstice in the Witch Circle (20 December, 2020!). We hope to see you there to help us send off the year. We're asking people to bring a couple of things: 1.some snacks and drinks to share 2.some flowers or herbs from your garden for the altar ... and your hair! We'd also ask you to bring a special cup for the ritual, so we can avoid sharing wine in the large chalice for our summer soiree. After the ritual, we are having the end of year party so please bring some snacks and something to drink. In the last few days, I've been reflecting of the year that's been. I think I can confidently say it's a year like no other. Full of change, lockdowns, breakouts and break-ups. A type of compelling uprooting and change; the likes of which we'd not seen in a lifetime, let alone in one year. The word "solstice" apparently means "sun standing still" ... but not this year. Today is an auspicious day and for talking briefly about the future of our Meetup group. ... It seems despite all the setbacks that 2020 could throw at our community our cauldron fires are still burning and we are still dancing. 999 members is a mystical milestone. In the esoteric tradition it is the perfect number of the Moon, on the sephira tree it’s called Yesod, the Foundation. In closing the year the out we are dancing in the Witch Circle on a strong foundation. We are stepping forward into 2021 with a new program.
