25.01.2022 This week we looked at what we could create with the things we have at home. Some papercraft techniques along with A4 printer paper, recycled card and paper, pens, pencils, tape, scissors and a glue stick - we had trees springing to life and owls and kittens appearing from unlikely resources. Great creativity from a very tired bunch of artists who had just run cross country races that day! Well done everyone :-)

25.01.2022 Our Thursdays Art Class looked at the mural artwork in progress at the AH Bracks Library+Creative Space by local artist Kyle Hughes Odgers. What a wonderful opportunity for these young artists to be right in front of the artwork and immersed in its surroundings - minus the rain! We also read Kyle's beautiful book "One Thousand Trees" in class and imagined ourselves playing and hiding amongst the trees.

23.01.2022 Our New Art Classes are starting After School on Thursday this week! I cant wait to see what this crop of young creatives bring to bloom :-)

23.01.2022 Amazing artwork from today's art class! Exhibition coming soon to AH Bracks Library keep an eye out for these Curiously Colourful Creatures! This is the first canvas for many of these young creatives aren't they just wonderful :-)

16.01.2022 It was a dark and stormy night...it certainly was last night at our first " The Professor and the Artist" an art history lecture by Emeritus Professor Richard Read and an art class with me. First time painters created some brilliantly dramatic skies over x2 hours - All this and a glass or two! 16.01.2022 Larger than life Scientific Illustrations of some fabulous Peacock Spiders. These wee chaps are locals from right here in WA. They are spectacular in both colour and dance moves! We looked at contrasting colours, textures, proportions and scientific names - a few new species were 'discovered' in class hey Marantus - Jerry! :-) great artwork for National Science Week.

We talked about all of the things we missed during lockdown including the wonderful Fremantle Street Arts Festival that was sadly cancelled this year. By imagining ourselves as street performers we made our own festival and illustrated it in Quentin Blakes style. The Art Branch is actually located on the Highway to Hell so how could we resist the inspiration to make some art today listening to some serious rock music and creating these beauties.
