Embracing the magic and diversity of cultures across our region, our creative weaving workshops are commencing in July at the Art Shed in Quirindi NSW. Hosted by my dear friend and local ‘Gamilaaray’ woman, MegO, our weaving workshops feature cr...eations embracing dilly bag and coolamon techniques. Inclusive in the workshop are all weaving materials, refreshments as well as sharing the cultural connection behind the weaving techniques you are learning. As you sit with other like-minded people you will learn the artistry of weaving in different traditional styles as you soak up the unique environment of the Artshed. This workshop is a single lesson which offers a LEARN-to weave lesson, where you will create a design of your own choice $75pp. If you wish to join the second round where you create a more complex design - please let me know. 07.01.2022 WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY Thankyou to everyone that came along to today’s Weaving Wonders workshop. Thank you MegO for sharing your heritage, culture and knowledge - it was a wonderful way to spend the day. All participants, Thank you all so very much - your creations were as individual and creative as their weaver There will be more beginner weaving wonders workshops organised after the school holidays, so keep an eye out for future dates.

06.01.2022 Future welders - set your sights high!- You will be able to do anything! Seriously, how clever is this sculpture of Tim Fischer? When I was in Primary school I won the Tim Fischer award and I will never forget as he knelt down to congratulate me and his hands were so large as he shook my excited tiny hand. RIP Mr Fischer.

Embracing the magic and diversity of cultures across our region, our creative weaving workshops are commencing on July 4th at the Art Shed in Quirindi NSW. Hosted by my dear friend and local ‘Gamilaaray’ woman, MegO, our weaving workshops feature creations embracing dilly bag and coolamon techniques.... Inclusive in the workshop are all weaving materials, refreshments as well as sharing the cultural connection behind the weaving techniques you are learning. As you sit with other like-minded people you will learn the artistry of weaving in different traditional styles as you soak up the unique environment of the Artshed. Our workshops are more than just the know-how, they offer an experience and include a follow-up lesson, where you will create a design of your own choice it could be a graceful lampshade, rustic basket or evocative wall hanging. Classes are $150 for the two lessons. Due to popularity there are two time slots 9am-12noon or 1-4pm. The classes are limited so register early. 01.01.2022 THANKS FOR A GREAT WEEKEND It was fabulous to have the creative and lively Bec Fing here this weekend to facilitate her homewares workshops. It was such a fantastic and fun way to spend the day. Congratulations to all the ladies that took home some bespoke pieces for their homes. We look forward to Bec’s return later in the year. Next weekend is weaving with MegO.
