25.01.2022 How’s Your Online Executive Presence? A client called me yesterday to tell me about a recent client meeting she attended on Zoom where one of the team members was so passive that people practically forgot she was on the call. She happened to be one of the directors of the company too! Okay, maybe she was having a bad day or dealing with a serious case of Zoom fatigue?... I totally get it..but how you show upespecially when you’re showing up online which does involve a new set of communication and self awareness skills is critical to inspiring confidence and trust in others. I call it "Online Executive Presence." Our communication channels have changed, so you need to change, too. Consider these strategies; 1. Focus on your camera, not your colleagues 2. Maintain a strong voice 3. Frame yourself wisely ( make sure your background or desk aren't messy and distracting) 4. Dress like you were going to a meeting! (time to ditch the PJ's) 5. 25.01.2022 Maintenance is the key to our success! In our society we're focused on dramatic achievements. Starting a new business. Running a marathon. A wardrobe overhaul. These are all great, but what we should really be focusing our energy on is maintenance. It's not sexy....it's not always insta-worthy, but maintenance is perhaps the biggest achievement of all. What are you doing today and every day that gives space to your goals? Whether it's continuous education, keeping in touch ...with your network or maintaining your fitness, maintenance is what gives us all long-term courage. It can seem as if we're 'failing' when we look around and see others broadcasting their milestones. But true success is about the daily actions, big or small, that not only get us where we want to be but KEEP us there. It's easy to forget this, when we're distracted on the next big thing. 21.01.2022 One of the most important things I recognised through all the uncertainty is to keep ourselves moving in the right direction. I know it can be so hard at times! I have been experiencing it too! I found ‘Momentum’ is a powerful thing. Small steps and incremental efforts in a consistent direction WILL lead to results. I have found this to be true with exercise, diet, learning a new skill, home-schooling and of course running a business. ... It’s crucial to not just ‘set and forget’ our goals, but to ask ourselves: Are they still relevant? Am I moving towards them? Do I need to create new goals? What have my past achievements and failures with my existing goals taught me? Be sure your constant effort and energy is being invested into exactly what YOU want to create, and taking you where YOU want to go.
