20.01.2022 Does your foot still look like this? No doubt it doesn’t. While we expect it to change as it grows, the foot should retain its basic shape. Incorrect shoes and the lack of barefoot time will see you foot become squished at the toes, rendering them ineffective when walking. The rest of your body then needs to compensate for this.... Many new mums ask me my child is 13 months old and just started walking. Which shoes should I buy? Please DON’T buy heavy, rigid shoes for your child. They are not needed. Let your child’s foot do what it was designed to do. Why put it in a restrictive cast?? Barefoot is best - but if you feel you MUST put something on their feet, choose a soft, flexible shoe which has a wide toes box so your child’s foot can move over the surface underneath and adapt accordingly. What does all this have to do with the pelvis??? Ahhhhhh....that’s a story for another time....

06.01.2022 Great quote from Mr. Pilates Most of us breathe incorrectly during the day and when exercising. This can lead to extra pressure in the abdomen, pushing down on the pelvic floor. Learning to breathe using rib mobility is one of the first things we look at when rehabilitating the pelvic floor and core group of muscles.... Practice breathing while feeling tour ribs expand out to tour sides and into your back. Make sure your not flaring at the front and leaning back. Keep your shoulders relaxed and feel the lungs fill with air. When exhaling, it all relaxes again.
