25.01.2022 SMEAC Inc Veterans Helping Veterans A short synopsis about what SMEAC is all about. ENDSTATE: to create a training camp one hour north of Brisbane run by vetera...ns helping veterans helping the next generation. in essence our philosophy is simple...(3 Rs and an E. Reconnection, Reintegration, Retraining with meaningful and purposeful Employment) but the project is defiantly not. If you want more info please visit smeac.org.au and have a read. So much is going on behind the scenes that it is really quite mind boggling. dealings with multiple government departments, different levels of bureaucracy, fundraising, publicity, those bloody t-shirts and hats and all the other bits and bobs that are required to get this bird off the ground. For reasons we will explain later we are only elaborate on what’s going on in detail once our initial phase has been successfully completed. We have been inundated with so many generous offers of support and I mean really generous offers and as soon as we secure the land, we will smash this but all we can do in the meantime is file your offers and any special skills ready to be reacted once we storm the beaches. This is a really amazing and unique opportunity that we must grab with both hands an opportunity that will save lives, veteran lives, because let’s face it one is too many and the flow on effect that this will have on shaping the next generation is one that we cannot turn our back on. Watch this space Cheers stomps Out

25.01.2022 SMEAC Inc. UPDATE Things are really starting to come together. Funny analogy from an old soldier but SMEACs a bit like a submarine heading towards its target..., something is going on below the surface but no one is quite sure. So today Ray and I took the SMEAC operations cell, Ray Toms (3RAR, Not to be mistaken for the the 1RAR one) and Tony White ex 6 RAR (around 70 years of combined military experience) and a key player in our advisory board, Aaron Langley (ex 3RAR and Royal Marine Commando) and of course Tessy out to Camp X-Ray for a recon and site visit. As they say a picture speaks a thousand words and a site visit, well, a million. This was a fantastic opportunity for the team to get their head around what work lies ahead and the planning required. Where are we headed? We have most of the advisory board, a real dynamic team, pretty.much nailed down, we have probably the most experienced operations cell to ever exist, and our Chief Clerk, James Birss a good mate of mine (ex 2RAR) with around 29 year under his belt is a ded set legend admin guru. We have Andrew Bayly (ex RAEME WO1) heading up our WHS Cell ensuring all our safety culture, operations, training, equipment and procedures are top notch and that the camp is run smoothly and safely. We will talk more about our advisory board later but it contains experts in government, fund raising, doctors, psychologists, leaders in corporate to name a few. These guys and girls will give us the guidance, professional advice and the connections to see this fly to the moon. We have the federal member for Fisher Andrew Wallace showing amazing support in helping us to secure the funding required to rebuild the camp to its full glory. Where are we lacking...We are looking for leadership from the State Government to push this forward. Last August, at Parliament House they all but signed off on it. They put it too EOI...we were the only applicants. Is it frustrating? You betcha. Are we giving up nup. We had a lot of support and offers of help in the early stages what we really need atm are: Marketing experience. For the launch and IT gurus to help us start nutting out the operating systems and point us in the right direction. We now have a dedicated admin guru collating and capturing all past, current and future offers of help and support so we would love to hear from you. As time goes on there will be a place for everyone this is a veteran organisation. Reconnection, Reintegration, Retraining with Purposeful and Meaningful Employment. Veterans helping Veterans to help the next generation. Like that submarine, lots going along under the surface. As soon as we can get the State Government to play ball it will be an all out attack. Cheers Stomps Out

22.01.2022 Howdy all, everyday day fitness can sound daunting when you begin, however all it takes is a little bit of concentration during your normal day. Little, repeated movements make up our lives, small actions we do every day without thinking about them. When we are at the gym, going for a run or a simple walk how often do you think of these little actions, how often do we train them? Some time just reaching up to take a cup of the top shelf, or standing and doing the dishes can c...ause pain and discomfort, why don’t we train to minimise these? A good way to start is by turning your everyday actions into a work out movement. Getting up from a chair frequently? Turn it into a squat! Bending down to pick items up? A deadlift, Laying down? Roll over and do a push up before standing up. There is no end to being able to incorporate these everyday movements into fitness training. Being able to get into the right position to do these movements is half the battle, and where it is good to learn. Doing 10 mins of stretching in the morning and evening and two medium intensity sessions a week to learn the correct posture and movement is an excellent start to a healthy, fit lifestyle.

21.01.2022 THANK YOU WE JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU SMEAC INC MUSEUM MOVE DONE AND DUSTED. A Massive thank you to every one of these legendary people who have donated the...ir Sunday to help SMEAC to move its new war museum from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast starting at around 0800h and finishing around 1900h This would not have been possible if it had not been for Langers and Tess for organising tthe containers and for Allen and Sue for providing the biggest truck in the world a truck so big that you could fit a space shuttle in it Mind you none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for the faith put into us by Bob Meehan who put his heart ito this for a million years and has decided to hand the batten over to us. Then there was those magnificent volunteers those same people who come out of the woodwork time after time just... well to just help. There were a couple of Dawn Patrolers, some SF Training and the vererans in force their partners and a couple of kids. So to each and every one of these legendary people who have donated their Sunday to help SMEAC get this project under way....thank you so much...thank you. They packed up and moved cabinet after cabinet stripped own displays and were absolutely fantastic, pulled apart chopper's ready for pick up before being moved to be ser up at an interim spot prior to being ser up at a dedicated museum at Camp X-Ray. That's when Ryan from Ryno Towing turned up to finish the job by disappearing the chopper from the Gold Coast and reappearing at the Sunshine Coast only to find that th chopper was too big for the tilt tray. Give Up? No way the boys and girls came into their own. Sorted the problem out and we were all off. Unpac and repack befkre having dinner and beers provided by Tracie and CJ with a very generous donation for just that purpose...thanks guys. And thank you to all those supporting us. Cheers Stomps, Ray and the SMEAC Crew

14.01.2022 SMEAC Inc is about helping veterans through reintegration, retraining and above all through purposeful and meaningful employment. I've spoken to many community... groups over the years but the ideas driving SMEAC have really connected with my own time in the regular army. Veterans, helping Veterans to help Children would have to be one of the most noble and heartfelt objectives I've encountered. If you are a veteran or a supporter of veterans you need to reach out and contact these people and find out exactly what they can do and how you can help. SMEAC Inc. I can't thank you enough for your time today. You folks are simply amazing. Bellvista and Bells Reach Community Association Golden Beach and Pelican Waters Community Association Inc. 04.01.2022 Good Evening fellow Young Veterans. Well it’s official we have entered the race that’s stops the Sunshine Coast. The Young Veterans Xperiences team will be rac...ing for glory 21 Mar 20. Now all we need to do is first build a raft and secondly get a crew to row us to victory. Now in today’s society of political correctness I am supposed to tell you it’s not about if we win or lose it’s about how we play the game. Well frankly that’s crap and that statement was made up by a loser. We are here to win and then gloat to the whole Sunshine Coast community how a bunch of washed up Veterans kicked there backsides. So we are looking for 10-12 of our group who want to help build this weapon of a battle ship and also crew it. We are lucky that Ray Carson from Xperiences has all of the material and know how to be our very own Ben Lexson and I am more then capable of being our Alan Bond and organising our supporters and victory party. So please comment below we are looking for a Skipper, crew and build team. Saturday 21st March Starting from Helen Penny Park, 30 rafts built by local businesses will set sail for O’Connors Reach in the first annual Mooloolaba Raft Regatta. With HOT FM on board to support the event, along with Mooloolaba Surf Life Savers, Mooloolaba Coast Guard and Sunshine Coast Council, Mooloolaba community spirit will be intensified.

03.01.2022 SMEAC UPDATE "Insert your name.....COMPLEX" NEXT LEVEL PLEASE SHARE... Veterans Helping Veterans to Help the Next Generation When you thought things couldn’t get any better. This week we were presented with a fantastic offer by the amazing Robert (Bob) Meehan OAM for SMEAC to take over the reins of the Gold Coast War Museum. This is going to take things at Camp X-Ray to the next level. Planning has begun on what we refer as the COMPLEX which is in essence a 10m high structure with a walk-through interactive museum on the bottom floor, a series of 8m high climbing walls of varying difficulty with automatic belay on one side and an 8m rappelling (UH1H Huey) on the other. It will have a mock up de Havilland DHC-4 Caribou (Look it up) exit tower for four persons stick parachute exits (Flying fox) sitting proudly up top and a high rope obstacle course exiting and entering from somewhere below it. Impressive? You batcha. To top it off there will be a canteen and picnic area to relax in whilst the terror tots burn up energy. The museum will be a walk-through journey throughout time depicting Australian troops during all theatres of war right up to the present. The blacked-out corridor will give advantage of sounds and lighting putting you in the moment offering a realistic peek into the lives of those who were there. This will allow you to look straight down a WW1 trench system, a patrol from the jungle of New Guinea, Special Forces in Afghanistan, or into the hold of a sinking ship as they fight frantically to save her. The opportunities are immense and the displays will be powerful and it has all been mad possible from Bob and his troops at the Gold Coast War Museum. Support Required We will be collecting the remainder of the equipment in a couple of weeks and have to line up a few ducks first. At the moment we have been storing the gear in our existing 40 ft container but that is reasonably full from the existing SMEAC stores. What we really need is a couple of 40ft containers to initially store the museum which will ultimately join the other 10 or so containers that will be used to form the base of the COMPLEX. We veterans are a broad tribe with an amazing network and if anyone here knows of, has or would like to donate a couple of 40ft containers there will be no better opportunity to do so than now. Ultimately, we will need around 12 x 40ft and 3 x 20ft if you have access to shipping containers or are feeling incredibly generous then there is the possibility of it being called, Insert your name COMPLEX. At the moment we really only need the 2 x 40ft. This will truly be an amazing facility drawing large crowds, including school children, tourists, international, national and local weekend adventure seekers and corporate groups, to mention a few and in full swing will employ around 20 veterans at any one time. Sounds exciting? Bloody oath. We can’t wait. If you can directly help with the containers or maybe the transport to area (Sunshine Coast) then please contact us directly on [email protected] Cheers Stomps, Ray and the SMEAC Crew NB Photos are about 1/20th of total museum.

01.01.2022 Finally...!! Guards are gone fences are down. Normal access into HQ is a go No more 1.5km walk in... Just park and play..... Regular games Wednesday 17:00-20:30 $20 Saturdays 15:00- 19:00 $25 Rentals available Mble: 0478202500 See more
