23.01.2022 12V CARAVAN SOLAR CONTROLLER REPLACEMENT Last week I was contacted by Barry in regards to battery and solar issues with his caravan. We identified that his plasmatronic solar controller had failed and was putting up to 20v into his batteries. The maximum voltage going into the AGM Deep Cycle battery should be 14.8v, any voltage higher will result in overcharging and will dry the battery out and this is evident in the bulging of the old batteries. The original terminals were heavily corroded and rusted so 4 new brass terminals were installed which will aid with the charging and longevity of the batteries.
