20.01.2022 Well what a crazy month its been. A roller coaster of ups and downs for everyone. I needed my own time to gather my thoughts and feelings on closing my business and supporting my staff during the closure of my salon. Whilst also being a support for my coaching clients.... Its been a difficult time for everyone, trying to figure out what their next steps will be and the uncertainty of what the future holds. Please know this situation is not forever, it will change, and you will get through this. Your business is closed for services, it remains open for business. The best thing you can do is stay focused and positive. Keep in touch with your customers and staff. Here is a list on ways you can work on your business during your closure. Remain active on Instagram Create tutorials, show old content, hold fun competitions. Negotiate rental reductions and cut back on any unnecessary spending. Create a survey to send to your clients to get feedback about your salon. This way you can implement any changes you need to make before you relaunch. Stay in touch with your staff, offer online learning and send them to free webinars to keep their skills updated. Look at your reports and see what services are working and what isnt. Its a great time to revamp your menu and what you want to offer. Use online learning for yourself to update your service and business skills. Create an online shop to sell products. Also take time out for yourself, its important to use this time to unwind and look after your mental health. If anyone has any questions or would simply like to chat. I am only an email or a phone call away. Sending you all positive vibes. See more

11.01.2022 My Thoughts As a business owner and a mother waking up to the reality of the Corona Virus prevailing during this period of my life has left me feeling fearful and stressed on most days since. I am for the most past usually quite positive and upbeat, but with so much talk around what may or may not happen, and watching the way society has reacted, I am left with a feeling of dread. ... I wake up feeling sad about society being so filled with fear that they feel the need to hoard I feel sad that people are living in fear which is causing them to become aggressive with one another. I feel sad that the older generation and the immune-compromised must be fearing for their life. Not to mention that they are unable to secure staple pantry items necessary to survive. I feel sad that my staff are nervous every day about going to work and the potential of catching the virus. I feel sad at the possibility of having to close my business indefinitely and of my staff having no work or income. I feel sad that the business I created and worked hard to establish might crumble before me. I feel sad for my coaching clients who are terrified of losing their business. This is definitely a time of uncertainty and I accept how I feel and that putting it into words is somehow cathartic. On the other hand, it has also put things into perspective for me. The beauty of the human spirit and how people have banded together to help one another. While I will remain uncertain and sad at times, I have consciously decided to choose love. Love for my family and friends. Without them, this period would feel so much lonelier. Their support and love have been immeasurable. Love for my staff who have been an endless means of support and who have worked so hard to keep positive and the business ticking along. Love for our clients who continue to support Lush Skin & Body and keep us thriving. Love for the Hair & Beauty industry who have banded together to support one another. Love for my partner and daughter who fill my heart with so much happiness. Please, everyone, be kind at this difficult time and choose Love. See more

08.01.2022 You make your own luck Coming home to my salon I always feel a sense of peace. Its my very first business achievement that I am super proud of. I always look around in awe when I visit and am so grateful to every client that walks through the door. ... Leaving my business to move interstate was a really hard decision. Something I didnt take lightly. I would be lying if I didnt say I miss being in my salon. I am often told how lucky I am to be able to have a business whilst living interstate. I dont like to use the word lucky as I believe we make our own luck and it can take away from the hard work you put in. It isnt luck that I could move interstate and still run a successful business. It took years of creating strong systems and processes. Years of knowing how to hire a great team member. Years of learning how to budget. Years of understanding my clients and what they wanted. What I will say is that I am blessed to work alongside some of the most talented, passionate therapists. Who have carried on my salon values and treat Lush as their own. Forever grateful I will be and have so much love for them all. @chantellelise_photography @ricci_jean_makeup See more

02.01.2022 Its so important to know your numbers in business. I personally hid from understanding my salons figures for many years. Not sure why? I think I feared what I didnt understand. When I decided to take back control, I felt more empowered and my business grew in spades. ... Here are some quick and easy steps to start understanding your salons figures and create growth within your business. 1. Take stock on last years financial success, see what worked and what didn't. (see what services were popular, what specials worked, so you can duplicate your results)2. Break your financial targets into manageable goals (Yearly, Monthy, Weekly, Daily)3. Break down each service and calculate your break even. Consider bringing in new services that will have a higher ROI.4. Evaluate your unique proposition value (How will you stay relevant, competitive and retain your clients) 5. Re-evaluate your outgoings. See where you can reduce your costs. 6. Have regular team meetings with staff about product wastage and ideas on increasing sales. 7. Build close relationships with your accountant and work with a financial advisor.

02.01.2022 Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react. This has been a big lesson for me this year. Every morning I try and Instill as much gratitude in my life, that theres no other choice but to react positively. Make the choice to have a ridiculously amazing day

02.01.2022 Always fun to back on The Pulse last week. Talking some serious topics and some not so serious topics @media_stable

02.01.2022 Sometimes we get so caught up in this rat race of life, we forget to take stock on where we are and what we have achieved so far. Owning a salon is definitely a roller coaster ride that can be all consuming. Try and take some time out to write down what you have achieved so far for the year and what upcoming goals you would like to achieve. Spring is almost here and we are about to hit our busy season. So many exciting things are yet to come. ... See more
