16.01.2022 Hello Lovely Ones, As the Corona Virus crisis continues to emerge, we are all adjusting life patterns on a daily basis. It seems adjustments will need to continue to be made, as the situation evolves.... I know for many of us, our yoga practice is vital to our mental and physical well being, as is the opportunity to connect with each other once or twice a week. I also know that many people are choosing to refrain from any group activities at the moment. Within this, if during the unprecedented time we are living in, you choose not to attend, I totally understand and respect that. So please, do what sits best with you and your families response plan. As has been said, it is up to all of us to play our part, be part of the solution, not contribute to the problem. In line with this, and the social distancing guidelines announced yesterday, I have made the decision to limit class sizes to only 3 yogis and myself. Mat spacing measured. For classes of 4 or more, I will try to find alternative spots for you during the week, day or evening. Places will have to be allocated on a first come first served basis. I will get in touch with everyone before each class and make adjustments as need be. As we all know, if we are unwell in anyway, it’s best to just miss class and come back the following week or lesson. I will do the same. My fastidiousness around germ prevention was fanatical before the onset of Covid 19, it can now be described as hysterical. So rest assured, the studio and all equipment will be well cleaned and sanitised. Of course you are welcome to bring your own mat, you may chose to wash your hands before and after class, or use the hand sanitiser in the studio. I would like to welcome all yogis, those who choose to continue to practice with me, and those who choose to opt out for a while, the opportunity to share provisions. If you are short of something, give a shout, and we can see if someone else has enough to share. We know we will all have sufficient if we look out for each other. Much love. Erin X

13.01.2022 Hello my darling Yogis, It is with a heavy heart and eyes blurred with tears that I write to you today. After very careful consideration, I have made the incredibly sad decision, to temporarily close The Better Place Yoga Studio as of today. ... I feel this the only socially responsible decision I can make, as we all work together to keep each other safe over the coming months. I would like to thank my gorgeous, loyal and devoted yogic community for choosing to practice with me. I will miss you all very much. We have all become part of the fabric of one another’s lives, as we gathered together each week on the mat. I hope we will stay in touch. If you can, try to practice a little at home. Remember my mantras, shoulders back, abs drawn in, bum tight, breathe in, breathe out and.... Rest assured, I will be busy working on new classes and sequences to challenge and strengthen our bodies. Solid work, that will allow our minds a well earned rest. During these different days ahead, we will all have to make enormous life adjustments. All I can suggest is that we look for the silver lining in these clouds that will fill the skies or our headspace over the next few months. The silver lining for me might be that I get a my technology act together! as many of you have requested live-streaming or video link classes. 13.01.2022 Lots of moves to strengthen and mobilise the back in practice this week. Superman Pose: Lay on tummy arms outstretched, legs together and long behind you. Tighten the bum, breath in, lift and lengthen the arms and legs away from the torso.... Hold up here, and breathe. A great move to bring strength and flexibility to the back, while stretching the chest arms and shoulders. A good move to improve circulation, and, focus the mind. 07.01.2022 Hello lovely ones, Just a quick post to let you know, The Studio will be closed during the 2 weeks of Christmas and New Year.... Last class of the year will be Sunday Dec 22, 5pm. Monday 9.30am, Jan 6, will be the first class of 2020. Class timetable will remain the same in the New Year. Classes each morning, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thursday 9.30 and 11am. Evening classes: Sunday 5pm Monday 7pm Tuesday 7.30pm Wednesday 7pm Thursday 7.30pm If you ever visit this page and think about giving yoga a try, please, get in touch. 04.01.2022 Incorporating Goddess Pose into practice this week. A great posture for improving strength in the legs and core, while opening up the hips and groin. Stand with feet nice and wide, toes pointed out. Bring hands to prayer position, inhale, exhale bend the knees deeply, moving towards having your thighs parallel to the floor. ... Check that the knees are not bowing in towards the centre, push them out. Stay deep in the pose for 5 or 6 long breaths. To come out, breathe in, exhale straighten the legs pushing through the heels. To deepen the pose, bring your arms up, elbows bent arms open at shoulder height, palms facing out. Draw the abs in while you open through the front of the chest drawing shoulders back. Take it up another notch, come up onto the balls of the feet, stay deep in the legs. Building heat and improving circulation, while strengthening and opening the body feels pretty good.
