23.01.2022 We have been busy taking calls about local needs and supports, on the COVID helpline. The helpline is available to take your calls between 8:30am 5pm, Monday ...to Friday. Some of the questions you have been asking include: Where can I get tested for COVID-19? How can I get support for my ageing mother? Can you organise the home library service for me? If you have a question for the COVID helpline, phone 1300 367 700 and choose option 2 or send us an email [email protected] If you need an interpreter, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for Latrobe City Council. For specific advice on COVID-19 and Government information call the National Helpline on 1800 020 080. This line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

13.01.2022 Boolarra Folk Festival goes virtual for 2021 The planning for the 2021 Boolarra Folk Festival is well underway with a major change to our award winning festival... that has been operating for 18 consecutive years. The festival will be going virtual, streaming out to the world to promote our event over two days commencing on February 27th in 2021. As Covid 19 has made it impossible to hold our regular outdoor festival in 2021, there will be a change to the format to ensure the safety of our audiences and communities. The format for the 2021 festival will stream live with selected musicians who have performed over the last 18 years, hosted by a special and well known presenter. We look forward to using innovative ways to promote the market stall holders and community groups that have made been a major part of previous festivals. Keeping music live during these tough times is important for our health and wellbeing, and we need to assist our communities and musicians by presenting this new approach. We look forward to providing you with more information soon! Kind regards from the Boolarra Folk Festival Committee
13.01.2022 Reward a Hero That is exactly what the Boolarra Community Hotel are doing! We are so excited to have teamed up with the Boolarra Community Hotel to offer the co...mmunity of Boolarra meal vouchers so that they can Reward a Hero. As we enter another week of Stage 3 restrictions, we wanted to show the Boolarra Community Hotel how much we them and for them to share that love with any deserving person or someone that just needs a lovely surprise. We love the way the BCH came up with the Reward a Hero campaign, and the way they asked their community to nominate a deserving person, by lodging their nomination at the Boolarra Post Office. Congratulations to the first voucher recipients. Shannon & Brody at the Boolarra Post Office were nominated for maintaining their excellent cheerful service to the Boolarra community. Who will be next to receive a Hero Reward from the Boolarra Community Hotel?
12.01.2022 Pre- development Grant Clarification The Boolarra Folk Festival Inc. has not applied for or received any funding from the OSMI pre-Development Community grants ...stream. An application was submitted by a regular stall holder at the Festival (The Healing Tent) using their previous association with the Festival as a reason for seeking funding. This application was not endorsed by the Festival Committee nor were they aware of the application and that their name was being invoked. The Boolarra Folk Festival has advised that as the festival will be run as a virtual event in February 2021, it will comprise only a Music Festival and there will be no market or stall activities associated with the virtual event. The Folk Festival Committee has indicated that it is very disappointed to have to address this matter considering its important social and musical presence in community. The Healing Tent has asked that we pass on their apologies for any consternation caused. Given its past popularity and the challenges of 2020 The Healing Tent will operate as a standalone entity in 2021 in a virtual environment with the support of the Delburn Wind Farm. See more

03.01.2022 Run out of toilet paper? If youre thinking about reaching for a different product, its important to remember the only real flushables are pee, poo and toile...t paper. Using alternatives to toilet paper will not break down in the sewer and can cause blockages in the pipes in your home and in our network. If you need to use a different product in place of toilet paper, please put these items in the bin instead of flushing them. Yarra Valley Water See more
