17.01.2022 Building value and tradition lasts a long time and takes a lot of efforts. Destroying it takes a few minutes sometimes, but - in the long run - everybody regret...s that. "Heroes" doing so are mentioned as "sinners" in the history books...... Please, bear it in mind and act based on that knowledge!.... See more

14.01.2022 Today the bulldog world celebrates a life of achievements whilst mourning the loss of Pat Dellar Merriveen British Bulldogs. Pat touched many lives of bulldoggers here in Australia and for those who were lucky enough to meet her she was a true lady. Her Merriveen dogs were renowned the world over. Thank you Pat for your dedication to our breed may you rest in peace

14.01.2022 We sadly learned of the passing of one of Bulldogdoms greats today. Norman Davis of the World Famous Ocobo kennels. One would be hard pressed to find an u...pper echelon show Bulldog in the world today that did not feel the influence of this prestigious breeder through his beloved Ocobo dogs. If you were fortunate enough to visit Norman at home, you will likely remember your visit fondly. I myself recall how welcome we were made to feel that sunny afternoon a few years back. A formidable competitor. A thoughtful judge. A cherished teacher. A passionate Bulldogger. And anyone who knew Norman could attest, a proud family man. We send our deepest condolences to Normans family and everyone who loved him and cherished their relationship with him. Rest In Peace.

14.01.2022 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the executive and committee of The British Bulldog Club of NSW may you all stay safe and well

13.01.2022 ANKC changes the British Bulldog standard with total disregard of their own ANKC policy. On 11 March 2020, as President of The National British Bulldog Council,... I received a phone call from our Dogs Tas President who advised that the ANKC had adopted a new breed standard for the British Bulldog. The National Breed council fiercely defended any change to our breed standard based on the ANKC policy on Adopting Breed Standards. But ANKC decided to totally ignore it! This ANKC policy outlines the procedures regarding any change to a pre 87 standard. The most noticeable points: For those breeds that have adopted the pre 87 Kennel Club England breed standard, new amendments do not apply and the standard remains as it was when adopted by its owners, except when a universal statement is added to a majority of standards. The NBSCG will never amend/alter a breed standard originating from the Country of Origin or Country of Development's Canine Controlling Body of its own accord. Now let's take a closer look at these couple of points. *New amendments do not apply - So why has the ANKC gone against their own policy and amended our breed standard? *The standard remains as it was when adopted by its owners - so who are the owners? Well we are. Then how does the ANKC change a standard that ANKC does not own? NBSCG will never amend/ alter a standard from the Country of Origin - the question must be ask why has the ANKC taken it upon them selves to amend the Country of Origin standard. This Policy clearly states ANKC you CAN NOT change OUR standard. And so when the ANKC decided to change it and go completely against their own ANKC policy, they decided that their own amendment to the standard is better then the country of origin standard!!! What an insult to the custodians of our breed that people who do not own OUR breed could possibly re-write a breed standard that has been around for over a 100 years.
