Please, please, please consider the language you use when asking for recommendations for any service or industry. I often wonder if people would ask for recommendations for doctors, dentists and other professions with the same reference to cheap, reasonably priced as a prerequisite as their price point somehow determines their worthiness to be selected for the job?! We all shop around for the best deal that suits our budgets at any given time and that’s fine but just consider your choice of language. Perhaps try some alternatives as suggested in this post! 08.01.2022 These are the moments that matter! I have photographed many weddings over the years. My favourite kind are not the lavish ones with no expenses spared. My favourite ones are the ones where people are celebrating their love together but also celebrating the union of all families as one. Where you can see the pure joy as people come together and unite. This year has seen the best and the worst of people, especially in this industry. Many have had to postpone or cancel their pl...ans as family can not attend due to border closures. Some have made these changes graciously, others not so much. While some have haltered their plans, angry that they can’t have their 300+ guests attend, others have found a way to make it happen adhering to the ever changing restrictions placed on them. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions for all involved in the constantly changing plans. But this? This pulls my heart strings. What a way to make sure those special loved ones are included. What a way to show your new spouse that you honour them but also their family. And what an honour it is, as a photographer to be present to capture these raw emotions and record a moment in time. These are the moments that matter most. I am often asked why I still continue to photograph when I also have another career. This is why. I love capturing life’s moments.
