15.01.2022 #Repost @cocobayswimwear On #nationalbikiniday we thought it only polite to give a nod to the first ever bikini worn in 1946! Designed by an engineer, Louis Réard, modelled by Micheline Bernardini, and named after Bikini Atoll, where the US conducted nuclear tests, it was a symbol of women's liberation. While the world described it as sinful, Réard and Bernardini further provoked the shock factor by holding a match box claiming that both pieces could fit inside! Not sure whether our bikinis would pass the match box test, but we would like to raise a little glass to the #bikini
