25.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of reaching out to meaningfully connect with, and support those, who may be struggling and at risk. Starting the conversation R U OK? with someone you are worried about could have a huge impact. But I often hear people express fear about their ability to have this conversation, or what to do next. This infograph has some excellent ideas on what to say and do to help you have that conversation.... Remember - you don't have to have all the answers. 24.01.2022 Collaboration, connection, support, respect - what's your jam? I took this photo while taking a breather in my car today. There were some absolutely fantastic things to come out of today involving all of those things that I value, listed above. I can't wait to lift the lid on these but for now, mum's the word. However, I had to take a breather because there were also things that occurred today that challenged me both professionally and personally. Things that were in direct ...contrast to those values. Things that were "just not cricket" as the saying goes. But amidst my reflection, and as the day further progressed, I was able to connect with the people and events that do align with my values. To have such a fabulous team, and greater professional network that also share these values makes me incredibly lucky. Same goes for family and friends. And, then there's always these two. They are always there for me Who's in your corner? Take the time to reflect and connect #mentalhealth #workingtogether #values #collaboration #connection #respect #support
24.01.2022 Summer in the 80s and 90s meant cricket, cricket and more cricket. I was probably more impressed with his slightly bouffant-y mullet and flair than his actual skills but, hey, the guy is part of what makes me reflect so fondly on my childhood memories of summertime. Vale Deano.
23.01.2022 Thanks to Windsor Child & Adolescent Psychology for this resource!
23.01.2022 Listen...wait for it...wait for it... We are back up and running! I never thought I'd be so happy to hear that sequence of beeps in my life ... #backupandrunning #faxus #now
23.01.2022 Oh 2020! On another note, did anyone else experience this level of disappointment as a kid? Or still has this weird longing for these biscuits? Or now hoard the tins for just stuff? Just asking for a friend...

22.01.2022 Able to relate to any (or all!) Of these? It might be time yet? O check in with yourself and take some time out to rest and recharge #emotionaloverwhelm #checkin #rest #recharge #mentalhealth

19.01.2022 Stop and notice who is renting space on your head at the moment. Do they need to be there? Are they treating the space respectfully? Is it helpful having them there? Do you want them as a tenant? #mentalhealth #whohasyourmindspace #aretheygoodtenants #choosewhoyouallow
17.01.2022 Today Emma and I got out of tyhe office and soaked up the sunlight all in the aid of asking R U OK? Because we are eternally pressed for time, we chose to connect by shouting coffees in the hope that even a short conversation and meaningful gesture made a difference to someone's day. Thanks to @drcoffeesalamanca for being forever cool and being our go to for meaningful connection ( = coffee, chats, bad puns and more coffee! ) #ruok? #connect #support #mentalhealth
17.01.2022 Most of the time we are not privvy to the struggles of others. Just because we can't see what others are dealing with didn't mean they aren't struggling. #bekind #mentalhealth

17.01.2022 Spoken like the true child of a psychologist. Tiny Dancer: "Mum, this is like totally calm down glitter". There is something about slime though when it comes to being soothing. I needed it after the half hour it took to clean up after ... Slime: love it or hate it? #calmdown #soothe #slime #mentalhealth
17.01.2022 What is this?? Leaving the gym and it's not total darkness?! I'm loving that the days are starting to grow longer. For me, I find it incredibly energizing and motivating Welcome spring, I feel we need you right now
16.01.2022 Absolutely! If someone is upset by your boundaries - saying no - that is theirs to own, not yours #boundaries #sayno #healthy #mentalhealth
15.01.2022 Juggling family and work - how do you go? I would like to say I'm all over it. Yet, today, which is supposed to be a day off for me with my family, I've found myself sneakily checking and responding to emails between holes and I have been mildly distracted (which is why my game is off. At least, that's what I'm telling myself). Now that I'm aware of this, it's time to choose to focus on being in the moment. Work can wait. I've got another 18 holes to play ... #worklifebalance #thestruggle #choosetofocus #whatisimportant
15.01.2022 Stop. Observe what is happening for you and around you. Do you need to react? Or is it more helpful to allow space for the experience? #stop #observe #notice #mentalhealth #mindfulness
15.01.2022 Given the impact of Covid-19 on mental health, we welcome the news that the 2020 Federal Budget includes a doubling of the number of Medicare-funded psychology sessions for all Australians regardless of location, for an initial 2 year period. Please speak to your clinician as to what this means for you! #mentalhealth #makeitaccessible
14.01.2022 Good morning Hobart! What a gorgeous weekend - now feeling recharged to meet what exciting things this week brings head on! #bringiton #newweek #newstart #mentalhealth #growth #beauty
13.01.2022 Story of my life. Does anyone else push their car to the limit until all the warning signals start flashing? A last minute dash following to top everything up and restore to normal? What about yourself? Do you do the same? Only we don't get flashing lights and symbols warning us to attend to our needs. The signs tend to be much more subtle until BAM! everything comes crashing down. The secret is, don't let it get to that point. Get to know your body and mind and how they com...municate to you that you need to top yourself up by resting, recharging and connecting. Allow yourself the time to do that before everything shuts down. Apparently the temp is going to be in the early 20s. Get out side, soak up the sun. Potter, walk, run - whatever your choice is. Catch up with friends and family. Now is the perfect time to start recharging. #runningonempty #stop #listentoyourbodyandmind #rest #recharge
13.01.2022 I often have people apologise to me for being too sensitive or worry that they are "over sensitive". Like it's a bad thing?! Sensitivity gets a bad rap and, really, could refer to a myriad of wonderful qualities. Empathetic compassionate, insightful, kind - just to name a few! Let's change the narrative! ... #flipthescript #changethenarrative #bpd #bpdawareness #mentalhealth
12.01.2022 You probably had your social media feed overrun yesterday with information about R U OK? Day. It was great to see so many people promoting the to the need to reach out and connect to increase awareness about suicide prevention. Awareness days are great. But let's not now rest on our laurels. We have to keep the conversation going beyond that. Keep checking in with those you think may be struggling or in need of support. In light of the impact Covid has had on us and our comm...unities, now, more than ever, it is so important that we do #keeptheconversationgoing #dontstopasking #mentalhealth #suicideawareness

11.01.2022 THE CRAWLEY CLINIC HOBART AFTER HOURS APPOINTMENTS NOW AVAILBLE! With everything going on in life, often we put our mental health on the shelf. One of those "I just don't have time" things. Between structured work days/hours, school and all those extra cirricular activities, it's hard to schedule an appointment with your mental health worker during standard business hours. At the Crawley Clinic Hobart, we believe that attending to your mental health shouldn't be an added str...ess. As such, we are now providing after hours appointments so that you have can have flexibility in accessing mental health support. Please call 03) 62232122 or email [email protected] to discuss how we can help.
11.01.2022 Happy Wattle Day (didn't know this was a thing? Neither did I until this morning) and welcome to the first day of spring! The days are getting longer and the blossoms are appearing. Spring has always excited me for the potential it brings. Growth, progress, prosperity and the ermergence of beauty after what had seemed like a long, sleepy winter this year. Take some time to appreciate the beauty around you today
11.01.2022 Too good not to share! Happy first day of spring
10.01.2022 Absolutely! We have no issues heading to the doctor when we are struggling physically. The same should apply when we are struggling at it. And, while I'm at it, I call BS on this notion that you seeing a therapist requires you to hit "rock bottom". What the?! Why wait until then? Connecting with a mental health clinician at anytime is ok and, in fact, highly beneficial for your wellbeing. #normalisetherapy #mentalhealth #seeksupportanytime

09.01.2022 Absolutely geeking out at my mail delivery today! The clinic now has a set of buzzies and headphones to provide tactile and auditory bilateral stimulation as part of EMDR treatment! 09.01.2022 We all mistakes but our mistakes don't define us. During BPD awareness week, we are being encouraged to change we think and speak about BPD. But now is also a good opportunity to reflect on how we think and speak about ourselves. 09.01.2022 According to the ABS (and Google) today is Love Note Day - an (unofficial) day to celebrate the art form of writing love notes to the special person in our lives. Expressing our feelings towards others doesn't have to be sappy or romantic. I feel this best expresses my feelings towards that special person in my life Go on, celebrate. Leave a little note for that special person in your life to let them know how you feel ... #lovenote #affirmations #lovelanguage

08.01.2022 For anyone that has had to endure me talking endlessly about my love for EMDR, spare a thought for Caroline having to spend all this time listening to me! Just kidding - a big thanks to Caroline for supporting me thus far. Since dipping my toe into the world of EMDR, Caroline has been nothing but fabulous in sharing her wealth of experience and knowledge to help me developing my skills.
07.01.2022 Today we celebrated a very merry un-birthday. Thanks to Covid, the tiniest member of our tribe had to have her birthday party cancelled at the last minute. Celebraring birthdays is incredibly important to me and we were incredibly disappointed when when this happened. The Tiny Dancer was lucky though, her grandfather decided he had had more than his fair share of birthdays so decided to let her have his. We celebrated it today, many months on.... If Covid has taught me anything, it is to let go of expectations of how things should be, to stop, be grateful for, and make the most of opportunities as they present and to think more flexibly. The un-birthday was gladly welcomed by all. A moment to celebrate and have fun despite what this year has thrown at us. #unbirthday #flexiblethinking #embraceopportunities

03.01.2022 Is this thing on right now...? People, we are amidst a pandemic. Though the restrictions vary from place to place, we are still in a pandemic. Please, please, please go easy on yourself. Old rules and expectations do not apply!... #mentalhealth #changeyourexpectations #goeasyonyourself
03.01.2022 Communicating needs (or even knowing what they are) can be difficult. Behaviour is a form of communication in the absence of words. 03.01.2022 A photo of a photographer taking a photo...We were lucky to have the lovely Rachael from WRAP Photography drop by to capture the team in our natural habitat. Stay tuned...exciting things are in the works. Although none of us are huge fans of having our photo taken, it was a great experience. No MH clinicians were traumatised in the process #exciting #plans #intheworks #mentalhealth #greatteam #greatphotographer
03.01.2022 Saturday 10th October 2020 was World Mental Health Day and I missed posting anything on social media to promote it...on purpose. One of the messages of the day was to look after your mental health. This is something I admit I've lost sight of. It seems like for the last 6 months, every spare moment I have has been filled with work. Don't get me wrong, I love work. But it has come at the expense of my mental and physical health.... So, instead of work, my weekend was filled with good food, wine, family, friends, friends who are family, footy, crafting, Halloween decorating and, overall, relaxing and having fun. It's a small step and something I have to be mindful of balancing. But is a start. #lookafteryourmentalhealth #mentalhealthday #dowhatyouneedtodo
02.01.2022 Sunday fish and chips on a sunny (but incredibly windy) day. A trip to the east coast lasted longer than expected - the circumstances weren't great but I am grateful the time forced me to disconnect from all things work and connect with family and friends #sunnysunday #connect #recharge #sosowindy #fishandchipsforthewin
