22.01.2022 The Bog Oak Awen Pendant This is the latest creation from the Crystal Grove and I am so happy that it turned out as well as I imagined. As a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids the Awen symbol has a special significance to me. Awen loosely translated from Welsh means "flowing spirit" or "flowing inspiration". Awen is the inspiration found by creative artists. Awen is symbolised by 3 rays of light emanating from 3 points. These points can represent the triple aspec...t of deity, and also the points that the sun rises on the equinoxes and solstices. The center of the pendant is a piece of Bog Oak. This is Oak that has been buried and preserved in a peat bog in Ireland for over 3000 years. During that time the wood has been preserved from decay by the acidic conditions of the bog and it hardens and turns a very dark colour from the tannins in the water. This is the earlier stages of fossilisation. Great care has been taken in surrounding the Bog Oak with a thick Sterling Silver band and an Awen symbol is carefully inlayed into the precious wood. All of this work is carried out by hand with great care and a sense of peace. The pendant is 40mm diameter and 7mm thick. Sterling Silver is used in the Bog Oak Awen Pendant to bring love, peace, protection, and psychic connections to the wearer. The Awen symbol itself will allow the wearer to develop their creativity. The Oak itself, having lived back in the time of early Druids will carry a deep connection to the past. The price is $160 plus postage. Similar pendants can be commissioned with any symbol you like. 20.01.2022 Recently I was extremely honoured to be commissioned by The Melbourne Grove to make two pendants for a beautiful couple visiting from the UK. They were a challenge to make but I am quite pleased with the result. They are Rainbow Tree Pendants in Sterling Silver with 7 stones in each. Garnet, Carnelian, Citrine, Malachite, Turquoise, Lapiz Lazuli and Amethyst. I won't make more of these as I wish them to remain unique, but I wanted to show these off and what is possible. :)... 14.01.2022 My latest creation is an Awen Door Harp made from some beautiful Australian Red Cedar. It measures 19.5cm diameter x 4cm thick. The tree was not cut for timber, it was recovered after it was washed off a river bank in Nth NSW during a flood. I am lucky enough to have a piece to work with. The door harp originated in Scandinavia and has been around for about 700 years. It was inspired by the Chinese Feng Shui tradition of hanging bells or chimes around a door to keep bad energ...y out. The door harp is said to signify welcome, good luck, health and prosperity to those who pass through the door. And of course the Awen symbol brings inspiration into us. Bog Oak is Oak that has been buried and preserved in a peat bog in Ireland for over 3000 years. During that time the wood has been preserved from decay by the acidic conditions of the bog and it hardens and turns a very dark colour from the tannins in the water. This is the earlier stages of fossilisation.... The Deer Antler has been cut from a piece of shed deer antler and after creating a lamination with the Silver and Bog Oak, is carefully shaped and polished to produce the ring you see. Sterling Silver is used in the Bog Oak Wand to bring love, peace, protection, and psychic connections to the wearer. The Oak itself, having lived back in the time of early Druids will carry a deep connection to the past. The Crystal Grove Bog Oak Wand has been hand crafted with care and measures 36cm long x 2cm diameter. The wand is made from a piece of Bog Oak 24cm long x 2cm diameter. Bog Oak is Oak that has been buried and preserved in a peat bog in Ireland for over 3000 years. During that time the wood has been preserved from decay by the acidic conditions of the bog and it harden...s and turns a very dark colour from the tannins in the water. This is the earlier stages of fossilisation. The handle of the Bog Oak Wand is made from a piece of Deer Antler and great care has been taken in polishing the antler and attaching it to the Bog Oak with a thick Sterling Silver band. The base of the handle has been capped with a 20mm round Lapis Lazuli cabochon set in Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver is used in the Bog Oak Wand to bring love, peace, protection, and psychic connections to the bearer. The Lapis Lazuli aids communication, intuition and inner power and also provides protection to the bearer. The Oak itself, having lived back in the time of early Druids will carry a deep connection to the past. 09.01.2022 The Crystal Grove Water Smudge Fan The Crystal Grove Water Smudge Fan compliments the Water Wand is created using Mallard Duck Feathers for the Smudge Fan and a handle made from a beautiful Green Turbo Sea Shell. The Shell fits beautifully in the palm of the hand. The Feathers are mounted on the shell handle using a hand crafted Sterling Silver joiner. Every phase of the crafting of this magickal creation began with me calming and centering myself and setting the intention of... the connection with the Water element. Whether you use this Water connection, or charge it with your own intention, the whole crafting process began with a prayer to the spirits of Water and was filled with a feeling of Emotional Health and Vitality. The Water Smudge Fan was crafted with the intention of working with the energies of the Sea and the Water element. To further enhance the Water connection, beads of Amazonite, Blue Quartz, Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite, and Sea Shells and have been hung from the wand. 09.01.2022 The Yew Ogham Dice Set The Ogham dice in the Yew Ogham Dice Set have been hand crafted from timber from the sacred Yew tree from the UK. The Ogham alphabet originally consisted of twenty distinct characters , arranged in four aicme. The Yew Ogham dice set consists of 4 dice, each one representing one of the 4 aicme of the Ogham alphabet.... The Ogham dice are pentagonal in shape with each of the characters of the aicme inscribed on the spine. When the Ogham dice are cast, the upper most spine can be read for divination.

08.01.2022 I have recently finished this beautiful Drinking/Sounding Horn set. I spent considerable time and care crafting these and am rather proud of the end result. The Drinking Horn has been crafted with a Silver rim adorned with a moonstone, and sits in a Spiral Silver stand. And a matching Sounding Horn has been crafted with Silver rims, a moonstone and silver rings for a strap. There is well over 120gms of Sterling Silver used in the stand and the horn rims. ...
