01.01.2022 The Drag! It! Out! Amateur Drag Competition is an event that aims to raise awareness for World AIDS Day through a fun and quirky medium. The event will be held December 7th at the Bass Bar, Wagga Wagga, with drag queen and 2012 Ms Gay Australia: Martini Ice joining us as host. Wagga Wagga is halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and about ten years behind! (humour people...) A local drag show, therefore, is kind of a big deal! Through the Drag! It! Out Amateur Drag Competition... we are hoping to provide an opportunity for up and coming local drag performers to showcase their talents without having to travel to 'the big smoke' as well as offering a place to come together and raise awareness of AIDS awareness week. We have over $2300 worth of in-kind contributions in the form of volunteer hours, door prizes, graphic design, lighting and venue costs and artist fees already which, we believe, is a huge feat in a regional city like Wagga Wagga. We are now seeking funds to cover the travel and accommodation for our fantastic drag queen host (approximately $650), some kick-arse sets (approximately $400) and ticket printing (approximately $200).
