24.01.2022 Sat 28 Nov - Moussa Diakite & Wassado launch new Album Kanafo - Django @ Camelot Moussa Diakité was part of the golden era of Malian music in the 70s & ‘80s, performing with some of Africa’s best, including Salif Keita, Oumou Sangare, Toumani Diabaté & the Super Rail Band de Bamako. This November he is launching his new Album Kanafo, a collection of new compositions featuring his band Wassado and collaborations with acclaimed Malian and Australian musicians. The songs on Kana...fo are inspired by the stories and folklore of First Nations people in Australia and the people of Africa. Kanafo represents Moussa’s best work to date and showcases the diverse styles of Moussa’s playing, from Afro reggae to Afro funk and traditional Wassoulou. Moussa’s driving lead guitar effortlessly navigates throughout, incorporating elements of Congolese, highlife, Afro beat, Cuban, blues, and jazz. Moussa Diakite and Wassado are quite simply Brilliant, Unique, Inspired (Four Stars! The Camelart C...lub features life-drawing with evocative live music from a bevy of outstanding musicians one week it may be a mariachi harp-player, the next week Mongolian throat singer, Gypsy guitarist, the next French Accordion etc etc A nude model will take to the stage for 2 sets every Wednesday evening between 630pm & 830pm, with a sublime musician/s underscoring the session. Cocktails, beer on tap, delicious red wines available, as are delicious pizzas and the ubiquitous strudel! All levels welcome - from first-timers to experienced artists. BYO all art supplies... No prebookings, just come on down... $15 admission cost (all attendees must sign in upon arrival, as per Covid-19 regulations)

Featuring Eric Clapton a guitar god, Bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker, this super group would create the Blues Rock genre.
