25.01.2022 Hi everyone We want to address how this current virus is affecting us and try and offer some words of support if we can. We have sent the following message to our staff on our private page and we decided that we want you to all know what we have said. We are not in any way saying this virus is not real what we are saying is that this is a situation that in our opinion is being added to and blown up by the media whos main focus as we all know is always to sell publications a...Continue reading

25.01.2022 Hello families! Just an update. Obviously today, the childcare sector was addressed and it was announced that childcare will now be at no cost to parents. This isnt quite as straightforward as our PM made it sound, as, in addition to no fees from parents, your government CCS contribution that we receive, is going to be based on whatever we received between 17/2 and 2/3 this year and then halved and this is the only income we will receive, no matter how many children attend..., every week until further notice. This, in conjunction with the job keeper payments which we should qualify for and will use to subsidise our staff wages, is obviously what is supposed to keep our centre a float for the next few months at least (although we will not receive these payments until May). We now have to prioritise enrolments on a basis of working parents, vulnerable children and then existing enrolled families. The workings of keeping our Business running is not anyones problem but ours, we just want to be as transparent as we can with you all. We therefore ask that you please bear with us whilst we get our heads around how this actually looks for us as a service. Right now, we look as though we should be able to remain open for the people that need us and that is what is important to us right now. We thank you all once again for your best wishes and we truly are grateful to be able to serve our Community in these uncertain and uncharted times. Our amazing staff are doing an incredible job of caring for, educating and protecting your Children all on reduced wages right now and we cannot thank them enough. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask, we will answer them as best as we can! Tracey and Vanessa xx

25.01.2022 Another update to our families. We have had quite a number of people after yesterday’s announcement, wanting to return, increase days or join our centre and thought we would address how we are handling this which may save some of you a phone call. As mentioned yesterday, we are now running on a priority basis and therefore our order will be as follows;... 1. Existing families still using the centre needing additional days. 2. Current enrolled families wishing to return where BOTH parents are working. 3. New families that cannot continue with current care arrangements where BOTH parents are working. Please be aware, that we are making it clear to any new families that may have enquired and also current families that are increasing days that we will ONLY be able to provide care until this situation is over as we are reserving places for our current families that definitely want to return to us when they are working again and/or the threat of the virus is not as prevalent. We are happy to help whilst it is required however it cannot be at the detriment to current families that we have promised retention of their child’s place to. We have respected everyone that decided to withdraw children in an effort to self isolate and reduce the spread and this actually assisted us in a way (for the virus sake!) by us being able to reduce traffic in the centre, reduce staff as well as having less children. We just want to point out that we still want to be mindful of best practice and distancing measures as much as we possibly can be and for this reason will NOT be filling our centre to capacity. We have a number of parents that had to continue to have their children in care with us and they were happy the numbers decreased and we do not want anyone to become anxious that this might change now that free childcare has been offered by the government. Please be assured that protecting and caring for your children has always been and will continue to be the priority for us. Wishing you all a quiet, isolated but happy weekend

24.01.2022 We have some AMAZING news to share with all of our beautiful families! Today we received our rating from our recent 2 day assessment visit by our government licensing body and we have been rated EXCEEDING!! This rating is the highest you can achieve and is not easily given. We are beyond proud of our fantastic team. For a privately owned local Centre, we are ecstatic that this has been achieved within 4 years of operating. Thank you all for trusting us to educate and care for your children Tracey and Vanessa xx

21.01.2022 Due to a number of our kindy children leaving for full time school we have some vacancies in our kindy room for children aged 3 - 5 years. This room of fantastic Educators is lead by Christina, our AMAZING fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Christina and her team provide an unbelievable school readiness program to under school aged children and a full curriculum to also support those children that are already attending kindergarten 2/3 days a week. ... There is something to learn at every moment of every day and supporting children with their emotional and social skills promotes healthy, inquisitive learners and is a major passion of Christinas and The Family Tree team as a whole and the best part is, whilst your child is supported and learning valuable skills, you are most likely eligible to claim Centrelink entitlements against your fees Enquire now to see what days we have available and/or pop in to see our beautiful centre and meet the team We look forward to welcoming some new families

21.01.2022 Hey! This episode explains the benefits of Nature play, unfortunately at the moment we can’t go camping with our regional borders being shut however we can still get outdoors. Some ideas of what you can do outdoors: Bird watching- research native birds and see which ones live in your local area... Tree and flower hunts- researching native trees and flowers then finding some in your area. Talking about similarities and differences, colours, textures and smell. Letterboxes and signs- how many are there and what do they mean? Nature art and craft- collecting gum nuts, leaves etc. Painting these and using them for collages Hope this inspires different types of outdoor play.

17.01.2022 This fundraising effort is to help one of our beautiful families that attend our Centre. Our hearts are broken for them. We would appreciate you sharing this even if you are not able to donate. Thank you so very much Vanessa and Tracey xxx https://www.gofundme.com/gvxur-funeral-funding

16.01.2022 As some of you may know, we brought in a childrens yoga instructor to provide a class at the centre as an additional service one day a week. Our girls are also implementing this so that children over the rest of the week can experience it. The advantages of yoga are well documented and in addition to the physical benefits, it instils a sense of calm, centered clarity that is an amazing trait to learn so young as it could create an extremely positive habit from a very early age. To compliment this, we have bought in some yoga card sets. They are very cute, child friendly cards with a different yoga pose on each one, for the children to be able to practice at home if anyone is interested, they are $25 and are available from the office. Feel free to ask to have a look

16.01.2022 Hi families We hope you all had a nice easter break and haven’t had too much chocolate Something interesting for your children today at 2.00pm online if anyone thinks they would be interested

15.01.2022 Thank you everyone for your supportive messages and for sharing our post regarding our enrolments. Whilst we continue to manage the situation as best we can, we are also working on putting together some activity ideas that you can apply at home with your children for those of you that have chosen to self isolate. They will be some activitys that we do with your children while they are in our care and we will post them here on our page for you. ... We are also organising some activity and play prompt idea cards that you will be able to get from our centre. They should be in soon. We still have some sets of childrens yoga cards available at the centre if anyone is interested in purchasing one, they are very cute cards and the children absolutely love our yoga sessions it assists in bringing peace, calm and presence where it is needed right now. Hope everyone is staying safe and sane. Continue to look after each other during this difficult time. Tracey and Vanessa xx

14.01.2022 Hello to our families We just wanted to catch up with you all and check in. We hope you are all doing well Thank you again for everyones recent messages of support, we are grateful to all of you for your best wishes and we are hoping to remain open for those that need us for any reason at all. ... In the meantime, for those of you at home with your beautiful babies, as we mentioned, we are putting together some experience ideas that you may find useful. The most important thing from us to you is PLAY. We are regulated to follow the Early Years Learning Framework which centres around play based learning. This is how children learn best. Encourage them to be a part of your everyday activities. We know sometimes you can get things done quicker or more easily doing it yourself, however, Children generally love being included in every day tasks and can learn so much. 0-5 yrs is so very important for learning and development and we encourage all of you to have some fun and include your children in as much as you can whilst they are at home. Until we get some specific experience ideas out to you, we thought we would post some free websites that may provide some interesting topics for you that might give you some ideas for your children. We miss all of our families so much and hope to see you all soon. If anyone needs anything, please reach out xx
