17.01.2022 Hello Beauties, It’s hard to believe that it is already time to think about winter isn’t it? Like clockwork within a couple of weeks the cooler evenings will blow in and the days will follow suit. So now is the perfect time to revamp your daily care routine so your body is protected and nourished and will see you through to spring with a beaming smile.... I have created my list of ultimate must haves, I don’t know about you BUT my skin needs it.. after our humid summer and an overzealous extended christmas season my skin is just ‘Blahhh’ Let’s start with the most important one Hydration - let’s remember there are two ways to keep your body hydrated, firstly lets all aim to drink a minimum of 2 Litres of water per day even swap out coffee for natural teas (Hot or cold) and secondly Moisturiser - layer it all over that gorgeous body of yours to lock in moisture. My favourites are Shea or Cocoa Butter Vitamins and Supplements - these little wonders can do miracles, from increasing the flexibility and shine into hair to nourishing the body and gut health which in turn will give you that glow everybody craves! my add ons this season are : Cod Liver Oil (Vit A & Vit D) Vit C and a B6 to ease my stress levels Cleanser - a cleanser that can remove impurities and nourish the skin is vital at any time of the year but as the season begins to change our skin also goes through a change which can frustrate us as we see blemishes arise. There are so many of the market, trial and error is fine and when in doubt head to Google reviews! my favourite is an oil based cleanser NATURAL Vit D - this is massive as many of us have now become too cautious of sun exposure this has shown to be true by the steadily increase of Vit D injections being issued - BUT 10-15mins daily is all you need and is essential for the development and maintenance of our bodies. Diet - consuming a wholesome diet that is rich and colourful is a MUST.. and yes I give permission for that sneaky chocolate, cookie or my favourite Peanut Butter Ice Cream Extras I love for this season are Paw Paw Ointment Bath Milk Body Brush or mitten So what’s on your list? xo @thefinert

13.01.2022 If your skin has been dry lately, you’re not alone. Cold weather, harsh winds, and dry indoor air all conspire to suck the moisture out of skin during the winter months, leaving it dry, cracked, and scaly. Cheeks, arms, and legs have almost no sebaceous oil glands and are therefore drier in winter months. And since the skin on your hands is thinner than in other places it needs extra TLC. Cold weather and winds can also aggravate your skin.... To keep your skin smooth and hydrated, follow these simple steps daily during these winter months. Avoid taking long hot baths or showers during the winter months - hot water can rob the skin of its moisture. If you take a bath, add a few drops of essential oil to the water to help moisturize the skin. Lubricate skin with essential oils or pure cocoa butter after showering or bathing. Cocoa butter is a natural alternative to petroleum-based moisturizers. FUN FACT *Apply the oils or moisturizer to the skin when it’s slightly damp. That way, moisture becomes trapped in the skin rather than evaporating in the air. Exfoliate dry skin with a gentle body scrub as often as needed. Two to three times weekly by brushing chosen exfoliant in gentle circular motions, and rinse off. Use a humidifier to keep moisture in your home and office. The higher the heat indoors, the less humidity there will be. (It’s the humidity that helps keep skin from drying out.) Check the labels on your skincare products, and avoid toners and other products that contain alcohol, which can dry out the skin. Opt instead for products that contain less-drying astringent ingredients such as witch hazel xo - @thefinerthingsbeauty
