23.01.2022 Full house for the long weekend. And with 4 degrees predicted tomorrow morning, our guests are loving the wood fire!

23.01.2022 We’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a great new year. Special thanks to all those that visited and stayed with us this year - we hope to see you again in 2020. We’re closed now for a short time - a chance for us to take a break and make the place even more welcoming for our guests. Let's hope that 2020 sees some good rain finally come! Oh, and by the way - the Apple and Grape Harvest Festival will be being held over a huge weekend on 7 & 8 March. As this event draws tens of thousands of people to the region, if you are wanting to come, I'd start looking at accommodation now as it usually sells out early! Plus it's generally heaps of fun!

22.01.2022 Whilst we do get quite frosty up here on the Granite Belt, we can assure you that the days are beautiful and our log fires and hospitality will keep you warm. Book your winter stay with us and relax with a lovely glass of local wine by the fire!

20.01.2022 Due to the current situation, we have unfortunately decided to close our B&B until further notice. We will assess the situation again at the beginning of June. We hope that everyone stays safe and looks after one another. Hopefully the second half of 2020 is much better for us all!

19.01.2022 After a great break over the summer, and some very welcome rain across the region, we're open again for 2020! And with the Apple and Grape Festival underway with a huge weekend coming up, you couldn't ask for a better start. So if you're looking for last minute accommodation, we've still got room!

16.01.2022 We open again for 2020 in just a week’s time! And either the secret of how good the Granite Belt is to visit is out, or people just want to get out of the house (we personally think it’s the former)! We have just a couple of weekends free to book from now until after the September school holidays, so if you’re wanting to visit this great area, don’t delay or you may miss out. Our little Scout can’t wait to welcome our guests again very soon!

11.01.2022 It's wonderful to finally welcome the rain!

10.01.2022 It's been a while, we realise, but things have been busy on the Granite Belt. Our new arrivals enjoyed a trip outdoors this afternoon and chased anything that looked vaguely interesting!

10.01.2022 Some good news... we’re opening the B&B again from 13 July! Brass monkey season is upon us here on the Granite Belt and it’s the perfect time to come and visit. We’re loving the dawning winter and can’t wait to share it with all our wonderful guests again: cold nights around the fire with that favourite glass of wine, crisp mornings, glorious days. Why not book your visit now? We’ve had quite a number of enquiries and a few bookings already, so don’t delay!

08.01.2022 Winter sunsets on the Granite Belt

07.01.2022 We’ve had a busy winter season here at The Forgotten Grove and we’d like to thank all those who stayed with us and enjoyed all the Granite Belt has to offer. As winter starts coming to an end and we head into spring, we are, just like everyone in the region, looking forward to some hopefully decent rain. This photo shows just how dry it is up here with just 134mms in the gauge since January! With no water in our dam for the past few months, the olives have been on their own. ...We’ve even stopped pruning and working on them so as not to stress them more. We’ve lost a few but most are hanging in there for now! Small country towns, particularly in drought, rely on visitors to provide much needed dollars to the area to assist keeping local businesses open. If you’re thinking of a trip away, I urge you to consider visiting areas in western and south western Queensland (or anywhere in regional Australia for that matter) to give them a boost. Spend your money there, see the sights, support the farmers at the gate. It might be dry, but I can guarantee that the welcome and the hospitality will be warm. See more

06.01.2022 We enjoyed a great afternoon yesterday listening to The Late Shift Big Band. They offered to come and play for free to lift the spirits of the Stanthorpe community after the September fires and the ongoing drought and to fundraise for the rural fire service. I’d encourage all my Brisbane friends to go see them - they play regularly at the Brisbane Jazz Club and around the city!

04.01.2022 A beautifully crisp misty morning up here in the Granite Belt. Book your winter stay with us and experience all the region has to offer. Winter has arrived!

02.01.2022 Tried the Granite Belt’s new kid on the block today with a great lunch at St Jude's Cellar Door & Bistro. Highly recommend a visit to all of our guests, as well as to all the wonderful visitors sharing the glorious winter here with us at the moment.
