14.01.2022 http:// I N D O O R // P L A N T // T I P // . , . A small tip for today..... for those indoor plant lovers with reverse cycle AC and a love for indoor please remember that cold dry air can burn plant foliage, dry out plant foliage and soil. Humidity is the secret for healthy indoor plant care during summer . I know that it is easy to dislike humidity (frizzy hair days ) but plants love it so here’s my solution to managing indoor plants during summer... inside cool homes...... . . (1) put plants in the bathroom for humidity. . (2) give the plants a shower . . (3) showering plants can remove dust and give your plants a fresh lush glow. . (4) saves you time as you can shower with the plants or you can shower many at one time! . . (5) move plants to a similar indoor area that doesn’t have AC operating constantly ie: hallway or a spare bedroom. Please remember that you need similar light and ventilation etc so the plant won’t stress too much being moved temporarily . . Most indoor plants will appreciate a shower. Humidity is the key. Consider placing a vase, jug or cup of water nearby plants to assist with creating humidity. Mist plants regularly in between a shower . Use indoor plant fertiliser all year round. Remove plants away from AC vents. If you have evaporative AC then your indoor plants should be thriving with humidity during hot weather. . Indoor plants make a great decor addition to any shower cubicle or bathroom space. . #indoorplants #thegardenbarossa #humidity #plantsinbathrooms See more

08.01.2022 T U L I P SWelcome to your Friday and weekend. Today I visited Rundle Mall and was greeted by pigs and tulips Tulip tip: always allow your tulips to completely die down before lifting your bulbs. Bulbs are best keep in the fridge about 8-10weeks before you plant again next season. Apply liquid feed after replanting your bulbs to restore energy. Reason for the fridge? Gives the bulb a stronger boost to produce taller and stronger stems. Taller tulips are always best so they can reach the sky and soak up all the . 05.01.2022 . // PRIVATE SHOWCASE OF WINTER SUNSET GARDEN// . . ... This is a snap shot of my garden. Winter garden in dormancy but Spring is in the air. Please excuse the yellow frost bitten lawn. The Barossa Winter is just too cold for any type of lawn in Angaston. However, I can guarantee that soon it will be a lush green again. My husband and I make it our mission to return the lawn to green as green lol It is just a seasonal thing that my husband and I are use too. It pains me to see the lawn brown and yellow. I guess the trade off is the flowering Viburnum tinus Laurustinus along the limestone retaining wall. The highlight of this garden is the view we have. It is just such a pleasure to be surrounded my really old mature gum trees, my own home made garden, the amazing view and deciduous trees. Feeling blessed during every season as my garden gives me so much content and joy. Despite Spring being around the corner (it usually comes a bit later in the Barossa as a few more frosts will hit us) I really enjoy Winter as it has another dimension to the way the garden looks. Bare trees can be a feature worth having too. The garden is still very young but you have to start somewhere. I say....the best time to have planted a tree was 20years ago....the next best time is now . Plant a tree today. Start planting so you can enjoy the garden all your life. .
