25.01.2022 We have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Barista to join the front of house team at The Garden, either on a fixed annual salary OR on an hourly Award rate. We work hard and it is a very fast paced venue in our busy periods! But we have fun whilst working and we're proud of the great culture, engagement and staff retention that we have. Culture fit is key and we are looking for a team player. You'll also be calm, upbeat and positive under pressure. Latte art skills a...nd experience working with volume are also a must. We use locally roasted coffee from the award-winning team at The Daily Grind, including regularly changing single origin offerings. Our business has been growing consistently and this has provided career development opportunities for many of our team. We're always looking to improve and we appreciate and encourage ideas and feedback from all our employees. In addition to an above award salary, we provide a complimentary meal from our menu on every shift. Must be available to work weekends; but we will fix your days off each week and give you two days off in a row (flexible as to which weekdays). 24.01.2022 Our newest exhibition Drift is a collaboration between local artists, and good friends, Di Crisp (Beach House Artworks) and Kathy Karas. Soothing scenes, inspired by the natural landscape, allow your mind to drift and settle. Enjoy this beautiful exhibition while you dine in our indoor dining room, daily 8am - 3pm.

23.01.2022 For a limited time only, we have this beautiful micro-lot natural processed single origin from Colombia. Grown by Jairo Arcila at Finca Villarazo, this coffee was hand-picked (for the the ripest cherries) and then dry fermented for 18 hours. This coffee packs a real flavour punch and its quickly become a Barista (and Alisons) favourite! Beautifully sweet and fruity with flavour notes of guaba, nectarine, mint and sweet chocolate.... This coffee wont last long and has been highly sought after in the industry (many people have begged us to sell them some coffee beans). It wont be available for retail due to the limited supply, so pop in and order a single origin espresso or long black. Yum! Thanks to The Daily Grind Coffee Company for supplying us with a constantly rotating (and always interesting) range of single origin beans for our specialty black coffees

21.01.2022 Our latest exhibition of local art Spirit of the Sea by Bruce Chanter started today and will run until 27th August. The exhibition features both a series of beautiful oil paintings, depicting captivating seascapes on canvas, and a series of assemblages featuring flotsam, natural marine and shore found objects. Bruce Chanter is a Berry-based artist with classical training, and has exhibited extensively over several decades. We are thrilled to have Bruces work on display this month.

Nicola has curated an absolutely beautiful collection of works for this exhibition including her well known 'painted ladies', still life works, and colourful layered abstracts. 16.01.2022 The Garden is a 100 seat relaxed social dining venue in the heart of Berry and we are open 7 days a week. 2020 has thrown some curveballs at the hospitality industry, but we are back and actually busier than ever and as a result, we have a newly created role for a 5th qualified Chef to join our busy kitchen team. The hiring of this position will allow us to return to our full operating hours and reopen for afternoon grazing, Happy Hour and dinner on Friday and Saturday night...s. Plus we'd love to get back to supporting the great local musicians we work with, with our Saturday afternoon live music sessions. We're a fast paced and busy business, but we value and prioritise work-life balance for our hardworking team and we ensure over-time isn't the norm. We are proud of the great culture and high tenure of our team (FOH & BOH) and we are looking for someone who is truly passionate about food and hospitality. Shifts will rotate across the team of five Chefs between day/café service and evening service and all Chefs will work (at various points) across breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon grazing menus, baking and preserving/jarring. Ideally, this person will take the lead on our dinner service and be involved in evening menu creation as well. 16.01.2022 I love the sea in all her moods: morning sparkle, thundering waves, calm shallows, lapping foam and salty spume. I have surfed in it, sailed on it, dived her depths. I also find the sea margins a place of peace and solitude: lonely beaches, rock shelves and pools, reef and islands, estuaries and inlets are all great sources of inspiration. My paintings endeavour to replicate the many changes of the seaboard at different times of day, in different weathers and tides. Beachc...ombing for natural detritus and tide-line debris, flotsam and jetsam, provides time-worn pieces for my sea-inspired assemblages.
