09.05.2022 In celebration of the grand opening of W Hotels Las Vegas, The Gathery developed and produced an event series that captured the vibrant energy of the storied destination. Inspired by the property’s distinct accents, our design married references of mid-century architecture, the surrounding desert landscape and the golden age of casinos. Striking custom neons lined the portico brightening the hotel’s entrance where glamorous showgirls ushered guests to the newly unveiled prope...rty. The hotel’s main ballroom was transformed into a desert escape with VIP areas surrounding the room and designed as private poolside bungalows fashioned in custom stripped fabrics. A glittering stage, built out of gold paillettes, evoked high-roller poker chips and provided the quintessential backdrop for evenings three acts: a DJ set by Coco & Breezy, a brassy performance by Lady Rizo and a contagious finale by dynamic Brit pop electronic sensation, AlunaGeorge. 05.05.2022 Long-standing collaborators, Pinch Food Design and The Gathery came together to celebrate the launch of Twist, a full-service artisan cocktail company developed to service the industry’s need to offer craft cocktails at scale. Inspired by the avant-garde cocktail devices developed by the sought-after caterers, our design included a series of site-specific sculptures where guests experienced the creative cycle through each of its stages: ideation, concept, design, and executio...n. A maximalist assemblage comprised of a rolling sea of cocktail glassware surprised guests as they entered the event space while a second minimalist sculpture made of a series of glassware crates reminded them that even the most obvious objects possess beauty when treated with creativity. The main entertaining space was transformed into a cathedral-like environment fashioned out of pine, cement and wrapped cellophane providing individual ‘altars’ to the new cocktail devices. 19.04.2022 Sophia Amoruso, author of #1 NY Times Bestseller Girlboss, tasked The Gathery to re-invent the traditional conference template into an innovative and stylish experience for the launch of her new event series, Girlboss Rally. Mining inspiration from Sophia’s novel and the directional aesthetic found in her coffee table tome, Nasty Galaxy, we created a design that balanced contrasting nuances. Transforming Hudson Lofts, in Downtown Los Angeles, our approach utilized the abundan...t light and raw materials found in the loft space to develop an effervescent experience rising from the grit of the back-alley street entrance, ascending through a rose-colored glass" elevator, and into a textured world built for content creation and engaging conversations. Framed poster art, designed to evoke vintage rock posters, where combined with hand-drawn wall art giving the venue an immediate vibe. A choreographed ballet of 50 speakers, 500 guests, 7 title sponsors moved through 3 panel rooms featuring 26 unique conversation. A bookstore studio, a photo studio, lounge and VIP programming rounded the two-days of events. All activity was capture on film to bring the experience to a digital audience. 01.04.2022 During the 2017 SxSW festival, celebrated creative director and founder of ethical accessories brand Brother Vellies, Aurora James, hosted a ‘morning after brunch’ at W Austin in partnership with Planned Parenthood. Held in the private room of the bustling hotel property, the afternoon included a small trunk show of the brand’s latest collection from which proceeds benefited the notable non-profit. A three course menu, developed with the sought-after chefs at Trace Restaurant, included a playful chocolate designed to reference birth control pills. The brunch was part of the on-going partnership between the hotel brand and the CFDA {Fashion Incubator}. Photos: The Coveteur
