24.01.2022 || JULY SCHOOL HOLIDAY DECORATING WORKSHOPS || Christmas in July is here and the Gingerbread House is holding decorating workshops for the kids every weekday during the school holidays. Due to CoVid restrictions numbers are limited, please book early to not miss out.... Call us on 4782 4239 and let us know which date you would like to book and how many children. We recommend no more than two children per house or tree.

20.01.2022 || LONG WEEKEND CHECK LIST || As required by COVID-19 Public Health Orders all customers must sign in and provide us with either their email address or phone number. We get some people don't like this process but it is a requirement of opening under the current circumstances. Our inside capacity is 40 with no more than 6 people (including children) at any one table..... No groups of more than 10 on any outside table, additionally we can not accept any groups of more than 10 at this stage. We ask that customers do not move around any chairs and tables to suit their needs, they have been placed specifically to accommodate distancing rules. Please respect other patrons and staff and maintain a 1.5m distance at all times We are not taking reservations for tables at this time. We thank you for your support and for accepting our terms whilst visiting us this long weekend. Let the magic begin......

18.01.2022 || Re-opening Friday 5th June || We are getting ready for you! We are grinding the coffee, baking the gingerbread, icing the cakes, melting the chocolate, and stirring the soup pot. ... There are menu changes, seating adjustments, and sanitising procedures that need to be observed as per government regulations so we request your patience during this re-adjustment. But mostly we are so excited to be back and can't wait to open the doors and let the magical times resume. 17.01.2022 || To our customers || Although the rules regarding the number of patrons allowable in cafes are being relaxed this Friday, for all our safety The Gingerbread House has decided to remain closed until further notice. But ... ... we are eager to welcome you back to this whimsical and magical space. We have missed the joyous sound of children's laughter, the enticing smell of gingerbread straight out of the oven mixed with freshly ground coffee, the clinking of cutlery against plates as people devour our delicious meals, the unrestrained 'Oh my gawd!' when someone just had a mouthful of our carrot cake, and, of course, the sweet, sweet shouts from parents yelling 'No, you can't have any more lollies!' as their kids scramble to fill their pockets with sugary heaven. Ahhh, good times, and they will be again. See you soon. x

This is great creative and delicious exercise for the kids or the whole family. Your options are:... Gingerbread man and shape with a bag of mixed lollies, a candy pole and ready made icing bag - $15 Or A gingerbread house building kit with four bags of lollies, two candy poles and ready to make icing - $49. Get on and off as you please. But, be sure to disembark at the Gingerbread House for a well deserved break. 01.01.2022 | A THANK YOU TO OUR STAFF | After six years of operation, we've had some heart wrenching moments at the GBH, like telling a customer we're out of her favourite croissant cake, like seeing a staff member leave to explore the world, like realising you were too tall to wear the Gingerbread Man costume, but today our hearts broke. We had the difficult task of telling our wonderful staff that we have no indication of how the next few months will look for us.... But we do know one thing ... They are amazing, supportive, loving, and have worked so hard to achieve the Gingerbread House's dream of being the happiest place in Katoomba. They have made us, each other and so, so many customers happy. Together we've laughed, joked, comforted and embraced each other. So, please accept our sincerest THANK YOU, Katharina, Kaylee, Caitlin, Ava, Sasha, Desiree, Jasper, Lachlan, Ty, Nadia, Ryan and our newbies, Zac and Georgia. Thank you for all you have done; we will pray and fight with every inch of our souls to keep the GBH running and have you all back soon.
