22.01.2022 How a high sugar diet messes with your brain

22.01.2022 Look after your gut and it will look after you

18.01.2022 My first ever batch! I’m thinking of calling it Mothers For Goodness Sake Sake Milk

17.01.2022 The amount and diversity of bacteria we have are an integral part in our ability to live long, healthy lives. Certain bacteria can accelerate the actual aging p...rocess, others, such as those found in fermented foods, can protect our health and do the opposite. Our digestive system does a lot. It’s responsible for digesting food and absorbing nutrients, protecting us from foreign antigens, and eliminating toxins. Behind the scenes of these essential responsibilities lies our community of microorganisms known as the microbiome. And they do even more than that. They regulate the immune system, interact with our energy-producing mitochondria, fight inflammation, influence our antioxidant systemsall things that help us avoid the chronic diseases that lead to the symptoms of aging we dread. I have felt the dramatic impact of the gut on my vitality first hand. A few years back I got really sickit was a combination of a root canal gone wrong that required antibiotics, a broken arm that required anti-inflammatories, and exposure to toxic mold that caused my gut, and my body, to completely break down. When I got the inflammation in my gut under control and reestablished the good bugs I had lost, I noticed some amazing improvements. One of the ways I did that was by supporting the growth and proliferation of the bacteria Akkermansia muciniphila through the right functional foods like polyphenol-rich pomegranate, cranberry, and matcha green tea powders I used in a gut healing shake. Not only does Akkermansia support the health of the gut by producing a protective mucus layer as well as short-chain fatty acids, it may also protect against metabolic syndrome and improves blood sugar regulation. Those are both huge for extending our healthspan and longevity. This is just one small piece, though, to the bigger picture of gut health and longevity. My research led me to so much other important information that I recently created my Longevity Roadmap Docu-series so I could share it all with you. You can check out my Longevity Roadmap Docu-series for free, between January 13th and 20th. Please visit LongevityFilm.com to sign up today. See more
