14.01.2022 Let life knock you down. . A little while ago, I shared with you guys that I was having trouble with my sourdough starter. Like everyone during lock-down, I jumped on the bread-making bandwagon. . I had never made a sourdough (and starter) from scratch before and was eager to give it a go! So I researched the methods, learnt the bakers lingo and took notes. ... . On day 4 (of a 10 day process), my #starter did not look active, and I had no idea what I did wrong! I followed the recipe to the tee! . After receiving advice from a few amazing followers (thanks guys, you know who you are ), I persevered and kept feeding my starter. . A few days later, I baked up my first batchIT DID NOT RISE ONE BIT! It was a hockey puck of carbs, rock hard! . Frustrated, but even more determined, I tried a different recipe, changed up my method slightly and baked another batch. . BETTER BUT NOT GREAT! . Third batch . What do you know, IT WORKED! Now, it wasnt perfect but dang I was so proud of myself! I made a loaf of sourdough bread!! . And it was all gone that afternoon, my family and I polished it off, dipped in fresh olive oil, heaven. . Funny thing about life, every time you fail, you either let it get to you and keep you down, or, you take it on the chin, learn from it and DO BETTER THE NEXT TIME . And to be honest, Im glad it didnt work out the first time because then I dont think I wouldve appreciated it as much when I took the third batch out! See more

Now, its 24 degrees in Sydney with zero chance of jumping on a plane but this girl sure can improvise! . And these peach prosecco popsicles (wow thats a tongue twister) are super easy to make! .
