24.01.2022 It has been a really good response to our survey so far around our upcoming Grampians Peaks Trail Shuttle Service that we’ll be launching in March 2021. We’ve been collecting some exceptionally good feedback and insights into what you see as valuable which is starting to really shape what the service looks like. If you haven’t completed our first survey yet, or have yet to pop yourself onto our mailing list to receive further updates on the launch, we’d love for you to get in...volved. Simply click the link below to fill out the survey and join our mailing list.
24.01.2022 You might have realised that whilst you’ve enjoyed your local walks during restrictions, that doing something a little more challenging such as a 10km walk might be something to do when we’ve got a bit more freedom to do so. If you’ve never done one before, it might seem a little daunting. So recently I put together a blog article for Armaskin on how to get yourself ready for your first 10km hike.
23.01.2022 Ahhh the mighty Mitchell River Walking Track! We were meant to be heading there this AFL Grand Final weekend but it looks like COVID had other plans. Not to worry! We can still admire it from afar with our blog that we’ve written about the track. If you’ve yet to do it, we strongly recommend that it goes on your to-do list when we get out of this mess.... 21.01.2022 With the new announcement made by Daniel Andrews today with regards to restrictions, we might be able to get back to our day adventures such as our Dandenong Ranges Day Explorer a little sooner than we thought. https://www.thehikingsociety.com.au//dandenong-ranges-day/
21.01.2022 Well, we were handed an early Christmas present this year with the Andrews government deciding last Sunday to allow restrictions to be lifted on enclosed transport. This means that up to 20 people from separate households are allowed to be in the same vehicle at the same time. And for us this means that we can start offering transport for our day, overnight and multi-day adventures again! Which we're so incredibly excited about!... So with that in mind, we've included a few more day adventures and plenty more overnight adventures in addition to what we released last week. Click the link below, take a look at what we have on offer and let us take you on your next outdoor adventure.
15.01.2022 Some much needed good news for our outdoor community located in regional Victoria.
14.01.2022 It’s a brand new year. Which means a brand new adventure is not far away. We hope it’s a good one. Happy New Year to you all!... Cheers John

10.01.2022 It’s underrated. It’s a decent old slog. It has incredible views of the Tongariro National Park. It’s the Mount Urchin Track in the Kaimanawa Ranges, New Zealand.
10.01.2022 One for all you regional hikers It’s probably a fraction too cold to be doing it just yet but put it on your to-do list for late spring/early summer. Who knows?! By December we might be able to take you up there and show you ourselves for our Mount Beauty Overnight Adventure!
09.01.2022 We’re off to Mitchell River this weekend for a bit of R&R and to see in the new year. How about you? Where are you adventuring over the coming days? Let us know in the comments section below
09.01.2022 Huge shoutout to all of our Adelaide friends, especially Big Heart Adventures, who are currently doing it tough with the news that they've gone back into lockdown due to the recent COVID outbreak. Thinking of you all! You'll be back on the trails in no time :)
08.01.2022 Us metro hikers can’t go camping just yet so my family and I have decided to take advantage of this great weather in Melbourne and camp in our backyard instead. How about you? Have you got anything similar planned for the weekend? Or maybe you’ve already done something like during COVID. We’d love to hear all about it in the comments section below. Our tent is a ONE PLANET Outdoor Wurley 3-man tent. It's affectionately known as "The Palace".
05.01.2022 If you haven’t yet caught up with the latest, we’re launching our Grampians Peaks Trail Shuttle Service in early 2021 after the launch of the trail itself in late 2020. Keep up to date with the progress of the launch by jumping on our mailing list via the link below. You might even get first dibs on it once launched

03.01.2022 Ottie Merino owner and Chief Merino Fanatic - Paul Goodsell - recently penned a fantastic article for us on the three benefits of merino when hiking. Are you a fan of merino when hiking?
03.01.2022 Struggling to find that Christmas gift for that outdoors obsessed friend or family member who seemingly has every piece of gear possible? Our Adventure Cards are a great last-minute Christmas gift idea that can be used on any of our adventures or outdoor gear available on our website. Simply choose your preferred amount, card design, and the person you'd like to send it to, and that's it!
02.01.2022 Hi all, I hope you’re doing well. We’re doing some market research at the moment on a Grampians Peaks Trail service we’re considering offering in 2021.... Very much in line with our overall positioning on making it easier for you to access the outdoors, we’d love it if you could fill out this survey (if you haven’t already) and provide any additional thoughts in the comments section below. It should take you no longer than a minute to complete the survey. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated Yours in the outdoors John The Hiking Society
