24.01.2022 And cue tears working with this family truly filled my heart! They were faced with endless hurdles but I refused to give up on this family until we got the whole house sleeping more and although it took us a little bit longer I didn’t mind because hearing the joy and relief back in mums voice when we finished up made it all worth it love what I do and love connecting and creating friendships with these families, how lucky am I!

Here are 4 things you can look at to help improve that morning wake up time ... too late a bedtime insufficient day naps too long a gap between last afternoon nap and bedtime (should be maximum 4 hours if not having an arvo power nap) hasn’t developed the ability to self soothe at bedtime. If they can’t self soothe at bedtime they will struggle to at 5am Sometimes a small adjustment in your day can make all the difference! 16.01.2022 Welcome to the Holistic bub! I'm a qualified nurse and busy mum of 3 and i have recently begun my studies to become a certified sleep consultant. I'm looking forward to working together with families to help achieve healthy sleeping habits and restore calm (and parents' sanity!!) in the home. Lack of sleep and loss of control over the dreaded bedtime routine also known as the witching hour (!!) can be debilitating for some and having been in that situation with my own childr...en I want to be able to provide families with options and support. You are not alone and your problems can be solved, I'm excited about working together with you to look at the WHOLE picture and get you and your BUB back on track and enjoying family life again. A well rested family is a happy family :) Please follow me over the coming months as i share with you my newly learnt knowledge about all things sleep and child related! 13.01.2022 Soothing Attempts Finding the best approach to suit your individual bub is so important in ensuring you’re doing what works best for them! Some bubs respond really well to a more hands on approach whilst others need more opportunity to attempt to self soothe. ... Tune in to your bub and look for signs of what is and isn’t working. Is your bub arching their back and pulling away whilst you’re trying to pat their bottom? Clear sign they aren’t loving that and need some space! Does bub quickly settle just by your touch and voice? 09.01.2022 Awake time This can be a common question I receive in regards to awake time and when should you start winding down for naps? If you are working on 2hrs awake time we are aiming for bub to be ASLEEP by the 2hr mark not winding down at the 2hrs. ... So if your wind down ritual takes 15 mins or you know you need to do at least 20mins of shush pat in order for them to fall asleep then you need to factor that in If we start our wind down or settling attempts too late we risk missing our window and we then have a very overtired bub on our hands #theholisticbub #sleeptips #sleep #tiredmum #tireddad #sleepconsultant #melbournemums #mumsandbubs #awaketime #naptime
